I got bored of it real quick because of the broken tracking and the fact there was no Pokemon in my area that's full of fields and forests

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They had bad PR

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I prefer the current version, at least I can walk without getting random people talking to me about it all the time.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I play several times a week with my stepson. It is fun for me to break up the monotony on walks.

8 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 2

That seems nice

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I still play ... we have a. Good group of folks that play together . Nothing like when t started but still good

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I like to play on my walk to work. Nice diversion from the monotony of the hike.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They were just really out of touch with what we wanted. PvP, a storymode, challenges, etc. Otherwise it just got old really quick.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

I played it for like a day - it was Pokemon without the stuff that made it Pokemon.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I still play...it's lonely out here...

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

its a lonely world out here with pidgys and snubblesover here in nebraska...send help

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hi

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As do I. Which team?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i switched to zombies! run! , it's never lonely when zombies are after you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was a pretty cool month of people interacting outside with other people though.

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

I actually enjoy the game more now that I very rarely run into anyone else playing it and trying to have an awkward interaction.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We had a few pub crawls here in Austin as well

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Spoofers killed my local GO community.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They need to quit the stupid regional exclusives

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I've been thinking about opening it up again lately. I heard it got more fun after some of the updates.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

It didn't.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tracking got fixed, and legendaries are supposed to come out this summer

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nothing has really changed. It's just ok to kill time on a walk.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

There's an event every month now so that's nice, plus second gen is in! And it's way easier to find pokemon than before.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Like the recent Slugma's Adventure Week? e e

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dayton Ohio is still in it to win it. Very Passionate people and great fb pages and discord servers.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm just now finally able to play it, and I couldn't be happier... even if I am a year late

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just started playing a few days ago..

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Go fucked up by screwing with the tracking system and then not communicating things.

8 years ago | Likes 130 Dislikes 7

The game was also legitimately bad from the get go. No trainer battles? And can't train ur Pokemon?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

yeah, but I think that stuff could have been slowly phased in over time if they'd been able to keep their base.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah they had a good thing and completely fucked it up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i still play. It has become lonelier though.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

2016 "go out meet new people have fun!" 2017 "wtf is wrong with you, get back inside"

8 years ago | Likes 314 Dislikes 4

yeah i'm embarrassed when people see my screen now. but i gotta catch more cyndaquil!

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I really wish I had had friends during the brief period it was popular

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I really wish i had a phone that could run it. Now that i do none of my friends give a shit about the game.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When you get powerful enough pokemon, those are all the friends you'll need. Because you can take over gyms on your lonesome.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it had the battle system of the regular games, I would have stuck with it. I just didnt enjoy spamming on my screen to battle.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well they made over a billion dollars off it, so I'm not sure they care if anyone is still playing anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 5

They could have made much much more if they hadn't fucked up

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Its still the most played mobile game

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

nahh i bet some of the bejeweled clones have it beat these days easy

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everything I see says ~5 mil active daily. Still good, but not the most played anymore. Just learned some Chinese apps have 50 mil daily.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Whoa mama. Alrighty then

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hatched a phanphy and a cleffa today. It was a good day

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I'd cry if I hatched them, I only need a few Pokémon to complete the entire Pokedex...but they won't let me trade for it + regionals suck!!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just need to walk a little bit more to get the candy to evolve my buddy Kubuto into Kabutops!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was overjoyed when the latest event gave me enough candy for all the rock types you can evolve. They're super rare here normally.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I lucked out, got a perfect Kubuto from an egg and the candy bonus gave me enough to evolve it on the spot.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are still 65 million active users for pokemon go, all the frenzy has died however!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's cranes roost! I caught Pokemon there! #1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Seminole county checking in

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same! There and Lake Eola were the places to beee

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I actually still play....am I the only one? Anyone else? No?.....okay....

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

My daughter plays it on my phone until the battery dies. She has no plan beyond catching as many critters as possible.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still play, just now it's getting good because I'm leveling up pokemon to defeat the most common ones in local gyms.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I still do.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I open it up once a month now? I see level 30's and that fucking big pink thing Blissy that's impossible to get pass in gyms *fuk it*

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Glad to know that evolution line is just as much as a defensive goddamn wall as it is in the main series.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Indeed. Damn thing is nigh impossible to kill within the time limit, and then half the time there's 4 bloody more of them

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

you need to get a group of friends and attack at the same time. 3-4 people can take a Blissey down in no time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have 2 big Vaporeons and a Poliwrath that make short work of them.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Back when all our celebrities kept dying

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's an unfinished game. All you do is capture Pokémon with no objective

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

It has the same objective that Pokemon has had from the start. "Gotta Catch'em All!"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No, that's the slogan. In the games you gotta build a team, not catch a million rattatas and pidgeys. No real objectives.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The core games have a battle system. Like a real one, where stats, types and moves actually matter (at least vs players, story mode is weak)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are two objectives. Complete pokedex and take over gyms. Keeps plenty people using the app still.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Complete pokedex"... given some pokemon are regional, that is a fools errand.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. There are Facebook gyms groups in my town that devise taking down enemy gyms. It's aweso.e

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lost me and my wife as a loyal player, because apparently rooting the phone will stigmatized you as a criminal scum. Meh...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As long as the damn spinners are over by July I'm ok.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I get the feeling most of the rage about them is actually from people that never encounter them, and less from the teachers and etc.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe if they'd implemented just a single actual pokemon game mechanic, the game could've been actually immortal.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly, it's just a typical free phone game, just "with pokemon"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's probably the single biggest wasted potential in the entire history of video games.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I don't know what they were thinking with this. "Let's make a pokemon game, but not include any of the mechanics."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They weren't thinking, Nintendo are the masters of non-innovation these days.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately that is too true. It makes me sad that they focus more on a gimmick console than making good games

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They lost me when they screwed with the footprints. I don't mind walking, but I won't walk around in 25 ft circles like a weirdo.

8 years ago | Likes 456 Dislikes 9

Yes because everyone didn't look like weirdos before that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Walking naturally = healthy exercise. Walking in circles and stepping off the sidewalk to find something = wtf is wrong with you?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This, I was hooked opening week. Took away footprints to find and it got boring fast

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's actually way better now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want to hunt Pokemon in the wild grass following their footsteps... not pick off Pokemon peeing on murals.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

25.0 feet is approx. 42.86 Bananas. (beep boop ima bot)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bt the time I stated they never ever worked

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They brought it back and they show you where they are approximately with pictures of the land mark they're near.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You can tap on the paws and it shows exactly where on the map.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You still see paws? I only see the pokestop, and if I click it I see the stop's picture on fullscreen with the name displayed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nvm, I never thought to touch the paw prints or really registered them. Thanks, now I'll have more fun in unfamiliar surroundings! :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they added battling friends I would download it again

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Greetings from the future, you can do that now

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think I read somewhere that nintendo specifically won't let them do that. Scared it'll compete with their own games.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Oh. Dude. They changed it. Now you pretty much know the exact location of pokemon

8 years ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 7

But can you track your distance for hatching with your phone screen off? I hated how it paused when you locked your phone.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I loved the idea of hatching pokemon while I was out for a run but having to keep the app open for that was just silly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's gotten a bit worse. Now the max speed to get distance is so low that you probably run too fast. I blame people driving and playing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, you can't. And also they screwed with it so much that you now have to walk 4km to register maybe 1.5km.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Need the Go Plus to play in background or lock phone and still track.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For real? No more "Wander around in multiple directions until the Pokemon MIGHT spawn"?

8 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

You only know the exact location if you have a pokestop nearby, otherwise it's random wandering in a circle hoping to find the pokemon.

8 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 2

I at least don't see the pokemon in Sightings without the game telling me which pokestop is next to it...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See that's the thing. It's not that I don't want to walk around, but I looked so weird walking ten feet then doubling back. Bullshit.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

But they tell you what pokemon is near your closest pokestops (identified with pic and point on map). Then some pop out while walking there.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Exactly, they made the game shit for rural players on launch, then doubled down and repeatedly made it worse.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm not even that rural and it sucks. Used to load up on pokeballs during my once a week commute to work using public transportation and

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when they nerfed that I couldn't play anymore. When your closest stop is a mile away outside it's a shitty game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The game hit a dead stop after they pulled this, how fucking blind can you be to not see the drop in players

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Only those that are immediately adjacent to a pokestop, its still pretty much unplayable without a scanner.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

You still need those common pokemon for the star dust and I'm not going to reach the pokemon if it's too far to show up in Sightings.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's evident you've not played the game since it stopped being a trend.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's fair. I live in a city so there are plenty of pokestops at which to find pokemon

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm playing it just fine and I haven't used a scanner. If by "unplayable" you mean you actually have to work for rare stuff, then sure.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Yeah, I think the game is meant to be a bit of a grind for the good stuff bc it's trying to get you to walk more.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's fine to walk, but the walking in circles bit made you look unnatural in public. My social anxiety couldn't take it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably because the game was poorly balanced and unfinished when it hit and people got bored because of that.

8 years ago | Likes 1546 Dislikes 24

balance ? what balance you want in game whithout any gameplay, it was basically glorified easter egg hunt, and it still is

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

If content updates had hit faster, it might have prolonged its lifespan.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

If it worked properly and didn't delete my account twice during the first month, i would probably stilö be playing it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Paper toss with monsters can only get so far when sun and moon came out.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I ran 4 blocks to get to a dragonite, threw the ball, game crashed. stopped playing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They should have had events, and more pokemon the moment they started. Better battling too in my book.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look, I understand games that are unfinished. But what you release is the first impression.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or it was just a stupid game.. I could be wrong though

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

It was a pile of garbage with a GPS tracker. ANd they aren't going to spend the money they made off fucking idiots to fix it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And it killed your phone battery in no time.

8 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 3

Also it breaks constantly and hangs on things like when you catch something. Improvements came too little too late. My GPS perma broke :(

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"game"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Add in it was also a very passive experience really. You interacted very little with it and just waited for things to pop up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine just stopped working after I caught my first decent pokemon

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#teaminstinct I still play and so do a lot of my friends. I travel a lot for work so it's a fun thing to do when my jobs end.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

lol why do gaming companies continuously do this. Just finish it first, especially if it's a big name like Pokemon.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

not really. It's finely balanced. Maybe too much so. It's just people don't want to walk to progress

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 44

You think Ubisoft games are always glitch free on release don't you?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Nope. Just stating a valid opinion. People are lazy which is why the game fell off as predicted.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 11

I was fine with walking to progress. I played Ingress. Pogo is a bad game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

a full pokemon game but free which is nonsense

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

...Except for those of us who moved from ingress to pogo expecting it to be like that, only to find they removed the actual game part.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All 10 of you. The vast majority of target audience had never played ingress

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Not really. It's a great app. People just didn't want to walk. Same reason ingress fell off hard. people thought pokemon go would be like

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

It wasn't really Pokemon, it was just a geocaching game with a licensed skin on it. Made a lot of money though, that was the point.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Actually it's Ingress with a Pokemon skin. Geocaching can be way more challenging than PGO.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It still has hundreds of thousands of dedicated players now though and releases events about monthly. Servers never crash now either.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Can't crash if they aren't being used.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Maybe the server isn't crashing, but the game sure is.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well, that and it's not really much of a game. It's Moore of a "walk here and get thing" simulator.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 3

except for the "walk here" part

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or if you live in a small town "walk 10 miles and get nothing" simulator

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The other problems I think are easy to ignore, but I can see why people in small towns with no Ingress presence before PoGo don't play.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I quit when it kept losing connection to the servers. Id be using valuable items and id lose them cuz the server got disconnected. Fuck that

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That problem has been fixed for several months. If it was the only thing keeping you away, the events and things going on now are really fun

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most people I know quit playing due to the tracker issues and complete lack of communication. Then they started cracking down on 3rd party

8 years ago | Likes 108 Dislikes 2

Trackers that did a much better job than their crap.

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

That's the exact reason I quit. It's 100+ out in Phoenix, I can't wander aimlessly and live.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Exactly. Even if it's a dry heat.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, that's why I stopped. Still mad about HAVING tracking then taking it OUT.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

The third party trackers didn't do what the in-game trackers did though. They were the AR equivalent of map hacks.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

When it isn't playable without map hacks, the game is a failure.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Except it's totally playable. I played it on my walk to my university for the past year. Don't be so dramatic.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

But it isnt, not playable, its just harder. All the game proved is most people are lazy cunts.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It's a game. No one wants to spend the entirety of their spare time wandering around when they have zero idea where to find pokemon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The bots with extremely powerful dragonites were what got me to stop playing. Every damn gym had a dragonite god on it.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Blissey is 10x worse

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't bother playing it, it had no gameplay beyond collecting, but I recalled hearing about hacked level 4385743895 pokemon.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Kind of figured that it would make the whole Gym aspect of the game, and the PvP they'd never actually add, generally unplayable.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I liked the excuse to walk around with my friends who didn't go outside, and the new idea for a game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And it lacked the only two things we wanted- Trading and Battling friends.

8 years ago | Likes 890 Dislikes 3

Cash and prizes!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And a single player story mode would be cool too..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It lacked the one thing I wanted. Decent game play.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I never cared about battles, I just wanted it to work where I am and not find a pokemon every 5 miles. And a stop every 50.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pvp battling should be out soon, but you're right it should've been there from the start.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Please understand

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also I live in a rural area and it lacks Pokémon.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Took my dog on a 2 hour walk. Caught 2 Rattata. Quit the game after that.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a data mining app disguised as a game. You aren't the consumer. You're the product being sold.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

Ok what did they gain about me that's useful when in love in BFE

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Literally everything. The data about what a person from BFE does.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's useful though?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 3

Haha you have already done me before with a different gif hahah. Have a great night!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do me! Oh wait... Not that hard :(

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Haha I've actually never seen this!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And a good combat system.

8 years ago | Likes 403 Dislikes 2

Swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, hey, wasn't turn-based strategy what this whole series is and still was all about, swipe, swipe, swipe

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why wasn't it just the same four move system but with a time limit for your turn of 15-20sec.. So sad.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I agree person to person but how would the gym work if the leader wasn't present?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

just ai. i wouldn't care.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Game freak was releasing Sun and Moon later that season. if Pokemon GO was anything like a Pokemon game it would hurt Sun and Moon sales.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it was made inferior by design so it would increase rather than decrease S&M sales.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The 3 pillars that brought down Pokemon Go are a lot like the 3 bad decisions that Hitler made.

8 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 0

Hitler made ALOT of bad decisions. Ending the battle of britain is another. At its peak britain had more pilots than planes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But you do have to agree that both countries had about the same amount of jews by the end of the war.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, Godwin's Law was quick with this thread.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1
