Every time the fight over net neutrality comes up, I remember this here. The colonies were being taxed unfairly without representation, and while today we are able to vote for representatives, it feels to me like we are basically in the same boat. That the rich and elite company owners out there live in some strange alternate reality from us, and the rest of us have seemingly no true voice at their level. Between the current fight, and the tax bills getting tossed around by the current American administration, where is the voice of the average American? Why do we have to fight this over and over again? What will it take to bring a real change?
We all have our own answers and right now we are fighting with our voices united, but what if one day it isn’t enough? What if that’s this year?
Idk. I’m just thinking out loud. I doubt this will leave usersub, I’m just a half assed not-even-a-real-lurker, but this seemed like an important issue. 11
Cat tax. (Which is the best and fairest kind of taxes to pay IMO)

Now we'll think back and reminisce of when the net was neutral. The kids won't believe us.

Net Neutrality was implemented 2 1/2 years ago. Did you notice any difference?

That analogy is so fundamentally flawed. Do those little shits realize that someone somewhere is paying for that WiFi?

Money makes the world turn but greed is what drives it.

Unfortunately, some people have no conscience and enjoy money
BlankhasdiedofDysentery
You more or less do pay a tax every time you log onto WiFi. Is it small sure but the government taxes internet and infrastructure.

Everyone asks "What does it take to get real change " but we all know the answer. It's horrible .
SedativeComet
Real change comes after something drastic. But what will that something be and how drastic? That's what scares me
SirHosisOfLiver
this is the shit i worry about. nothing can be changed
miahtSuperVillain
Scares everbody.

real change is slow. This is why I'm conservative even though I want what liberals want. I believe change to be effective needs to be slow.

If you change things quickly there's mistakes & people get caught up in the system. Then that creates blow back against your movement.

The hard part is no one has patience. Real change takes generations
