Why would you want a Raspberry Pi emulator? An actual Raspberry Pi would probably be just as cheap.

You make another, I'll buy it.

Tutorial??

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Start by forgetting the Raspberry Pi and get a Banana Pi instead (yes, it's a thing and yes, you will be VERY HAPPY!)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read reviews on the two and there doesn't seem to be that big of a difference, and there is more support for the RPi. I'd go B+ for this.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Banana Pi is compatible with raspberry pi OS, has a better cpu, better ram, more connection and features. What are you talking about?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Compared to a RPi B the BPi wins, but I much prefer the physical layout of the RPi B+ for projects like this, and the B+ is powerful enough.

1000 points to Gryffindor for not gutting a real, working NES like that last guy.

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

What if that one was already broken? I've had a dead NES, I'd gladly gut it for one of these.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have 2 in my possession, if I knew how to do all that shenanigans, the dead one would be serving this purpose as we speak.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 dead NESs? Bah, impossible. Unless, of course, they were either caught on fire or ran over by a train. It's super easy to fix these things

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my buddy had two. He gave me one. I plan on doing something similar to this but more HTPC-esque

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

no, one works (usually), one doesn't. super easy, you say? guide me, o wise one!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here's a step-by-step I just wrote up. It would never fit within Imgur limits, so here's a pastebin: http://pastebin.com/U4LcXJ5k

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I won't be satisfied until there's a "how-to" for this... and the proper thingiverse model linked... I NEED this.

11 years ago | Likes 355 Dislikes 2

Commenting because I need to do this sometime

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was on board til his comments said he destroyed an actual NES to ruin it like this.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I too need this

I believe the case is 3d printed if that helps: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:307832

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That actually helps, yes, thank you. Wife bought what I was planning to get her for critsmash, backup plan in the works now! :D

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See, everyone keeps saying that.. but the ports are all wrong. And it was my understanding they were done while printing, not after.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It might be another build; that was just the first one I found.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dotty dot dot

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You deserve an award... I'm really just commenting to find later, but really

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same.. to build later :)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Commenting to build later

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But this raspberry PI Nintendo pictured is just a 3D printed enclosure that LOOKS loke an original NES, but is smaller in size.

well, for each point you go int he negative it subracts -2 from your karma, but for every point up you get +1 to your karma.. so no.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

more than half?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The USB ports should be where the controller ports normally go.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

It would look less like a NES then, which would be bad.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't forget to blow on it.
