I read reviews on the two and there doesn't seem to be that big of a difference, and there is more support for the RPi. I'd go B+ for this.

Compared to a RPi B the BPi wins, but I much prefer the physical layout of the RPi B+ for projects like this, and the B+ is powerful enough.
