Theyre desperately trying to avoid the consequences for attacking Iran by making all the oil already out on the sea legal, in the hopes it can fill in for missing supply until they can open the straits again. It won't matter in the long run though. Trump fucked up, the US can't beat Iran. The EU has been buying Russian gas through blackmarket channels since 2022 though, nothing really changed there

It kind of works out for Trump: His downward trend in popularity stopped: While his stupid war is not popular, it still is more popular then him blocking the Epstein files. He got away with lifting Russia sanctions without additional backlash, he was able to make his friend Bibi happy, so he does not unleash his Mossad. Yes, not having Americans die in his stupid War and not destroying the global economy are priorities for Trump, because he wants to be popular. But they are SECONDARY priorities
