There is a teacher at my sister's middle school who angrly rips students' homework and yells at them when he gets a chance. Like why.

Or Canada

Teaching, like pimping, ain't easy and should pay a great deal more. That said, they are still people and most people are cunts.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

My college Econ professor used to say that we should fire all teachers, double the pay, and reinterview.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And yet, I still want to become a teachers aide so I can help children. Fuck what the others think

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What we should do is go back to the days of one room schoolhouses. And let teachers hit kids. /s

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Finally! Someone has the courage to say what we have all been thinking!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ummm can we talk about how the highest paid teachers at universities are coaches, and students on NCAA teams are basically slaves???

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

College athletes cannot be paid, meanwhile the coaches are paid stupid amounts of cash. Fits this comic quite well.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Does a professor bring in $100 million a year in for the school? I'm all for good teacher pay but u gotta realize the revenue from coaches

This is the universe I want to live in

Because teachers are in unions, and unions = bad. I know because lobbyists, I mean the one media outlet that only tells the truth, said so.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

In Nova Scotia today the teachers have walked out... The government portraits them as greedy assholes, in reality they just want improved

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Classroom conditions so that kids can actually learn

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Really peculiar moment as a first year teacher: realizing my kids see me as a rich person because I wear a tie and drive a car.

shoutout to all my amazing teachers throughout the years, you da realest MVP's there is.

The amount of ignorance in this comment section is staggering

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

It's strange that teachers need to strike for the city to give raises. Yet, absolutely no problem dishing out millions for new stadiums.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I just wish they wouldn't go on like they are special, yes I'm sure your job is hard sometimes, but so are most people's. I have a couple of

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 17

Friends who teach, one in particular who is very successful. They just get on with it. Both aware that In a lot of ways they are lucky.

Thats bullshit. That's like saying that the reason you have access to the Internet is because of Gary down at the server..

I'ld prefer the caption: If your income were relative to your contribution to society.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

teachers are beyond vital, even the weaker ones, if they were paid as sitters, even badly, 5 bucks/hr, 20 kids, they'd make $100+/hr

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Sounds like they're idiots for not quitting their jobs and becoming babysitters then

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

My sister's a teacher, works full time, and STILL qualifies for Food Stamps

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

So she's bitching about a salary and free food? First world problems

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 18

A salary that's so low that you *qualify for food stamps*?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She should teach in Australia, good pay.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cause you need it given how freaking high house is out there.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

teacher unions ensure there is more money in the education bureaucracy than the classroom but teacher still support the union. not smart

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

NBA players have a better union.....

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Only real way to get significantly higher teacher pay is to make them federal employees. No one wants that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Both of my parents are teachers. My mom teaches special ed and my dad teaches math. They love what they do

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thank you OP:)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ha ha ha ha. Teachers at all levels work long hours and are required to do certification training in summers. Most are heroes.

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 37

They in general make LESS than minimum wage.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

haha joke is on them. 10mil isnt much for an NBA player now hahahahahahaKillUshahahaha

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

TIL a hero is a person who does the job they are paid to do...

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

If that job include tremendous sacrifice and trying to help kids have better lives against difficult odds, then kinda.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Teachers sound a lot like IT professionals, if that's the case. Guess I can now tell my husband he's a hero.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

I would argue the certificates are just as worthless.I don't care if you have 999+ hours in class - nothing will beat real world experience.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really throwing "hero" around liberally huh

9 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 30

Not when it comes to teachers.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

most can make more money doing something else, it's should be respected that they choose to teach our shitty kids instead.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Then they're either stupid for not doing something else and making more money, or assholes for bitching about taking less voluntarily...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Unpopular opinion: If we can apply that term to soldiers dying for low oil prices, we can apply it to those teaching our children to succeed

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 16

Soldiers dying is equal to teaching. I hope you're not serious.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

What if I find that silly too. These are jobs. It's a job. Doesn't make you a hero by default. Going above and beyond at your job is differe

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

True. you arent automatically good by being a teacher, but many teachers I know are incredibly selfless & committed despite being paid shit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ya I think someone messed up writing this article. GDP of the United States is 16 trillion. Each teacher in New York made $60million?lmfao

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

uhhh what? the top pay out was $220,421.16 and the top pay for any of the teachers was $147,348.14...whered you get $60 million?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Click on the link and read the first sentence.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my experience 95% of teachers are kind of shitty. Only a few stood out as making some positive contribution to my life over the years.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

Have to agree, it's way to easy to become a teacher where I live. Most do it because they'll never get fired.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

I wonder if the poor compensation has much to do with it

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

actually it has more to do with the fact that in the USA you can be a bad student and still become a teacher, while in most countries at

that* are ahead of us in education only the creme of the crop of those going to school to become teachers get to teach

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

USA ranks in top 10 as of 2016 for teacher avg teacher pay but 30th in terms of math/science compared to the world.

tldr we pay dumb people lots of $ to teach and get dumb kids, others pay very smart people avg amounts of money and get very smart kids

Please understand ppro sports are kept afloat by the private interest of private citizens. Why dont people compare the wnba? O no interest.

9 years ago | Likes 153 Dislikes 18

Or most of the other olympic sports. Many of them don't have much

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The NFL is a non-profit... They don't pay taxes

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

Not anymore, an individual NFL have always paid taxes on their income.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That should be individual NFL *teams

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

False. They voluntarily forfeited their NP status a few years ago

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Pro sports are kept afloat by advertising. Don't kid yourself.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 27

O no doubt.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you could commercialise teaching and develop an audience, advertising would come - look at the money college and HS sports coaches get.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They can advertise because there is massive interest, they're tapping in to a massive market. No interest in the sport = minimal advertising

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Pro sports are also kept afloat by tax breaks and subsidies for things like stadiums.

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 16

Such a foolish statement

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Explain?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And having an actual stadium brings in revenue from a lot of other things. The actual sport as just one event that goes on in it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's clearly talking about the four major pro sports that have massive government subsidized stadiums.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Those unite the city and give a sense of camaraderie and excitement. Cities love their sports teams. Its a minority who don't.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

That bring in a ton of money to the city and a lot of jobs. I'm fine with those tax breaks.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 16

They are actually a huge drain economically. They only benefit the owners who extort cities with threats of leaving.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Face value, I don't see it. How so, change my mind.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 15

Very few of them bring in more than a handful of jobs. Most of the money they bring it would have just been spent elsewhere.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily. Events bring in tourists who's money would've have been spent in a different city.
