If it is a random number just answer and stay silent, a lot of the robots only activate if they detect audio.

I tend to answer my phone whenever it rings. It's often a real call. I wouldn't mind the scam calls as much if they weren't robots.

You should still be careful. You are confirming when answering that you are a real person which tends to perpetuate the scan calls.

I also just read an article that some scammers are recording to try to get you to say certain things like "yes" and they use the it 4 later.
