And there's a shitload of rich people who dont give a shit about this poor countries..

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's amazing how these people who having nothing, give to people who have less than nothing. Wish we could learn a thing or two.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We're so fucking spoiled.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love these videos! The sound of the food cooking or the scraping of the utensils as they stir, it's so satisfying lol.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

My favorite part is the *ring* when the utensils hit the cooking vessel.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I honestly would do this if I could stop living paycheck to paycheck. I volunteer but it never seems enough.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It fucking breaks my heart that so many people actually live like that. It's so unfair and I can't handle it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The real takeaway here is that I watched this too many times just trying to find meaning @cockroachmilk attached to it. Then i saw the tag.

The religious are compelled to perform this way as part of their daily blessings

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

How can we get resources to this man?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

i think this is all food from his own farm, in the start of the video you can hear his roosters cawing... this is his market produce

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Maybe get resources to your own hungry first? Will help people millions of miles away that hate me. Fuck my people though. Do-gooders. Odd.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

Maybe if we saw the work and results of some domestic charities, we'd be able to know who deserves money.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You assume that I don't already do that. Odd.

Eggshellent*

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At first I thought they were tossing the egg shells unto the pan

9 years ago | Likes 4590 Dislikes 22

I absolutely despise onions but I'd eat a whole raw one rather than eat a tiny bit of eggshell. So i was horrified then confusedly relieved.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeap, same here.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SPOILER ALERT

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same. Had ti watch it three more times to realize they were onions. I blame the unnecessary pan to the pile of eggshells prior to cutting.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, me too. Thought that maybe it was to give the dish a little texture, a little "crunch". I'm fairly an idiot.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I might be weird, I thought they were tiny pink squid until someone said onions.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Please no :(

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me: oh what no no no! GF: what what? Me: oh wait, Those are onions. Ok.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Haha so did i! totally thought they were the shells. I thought 'the fuck??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Egg shells are edible and healthy. My parents blended them with the yolk and white and I couldn't tell the difference.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In fact, now I eat hardboiled eggs and sometimes I also eat a part of a shell. Not the tastiest, but no diet is done for the taste.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's just a prank bro

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but then my jaw dropped

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought they were gonna make a giant omelette

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can grind them up into a powder and still eat it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was totally impressed about how they don't waste anything. Until I realized it was onions.

9 years ago | Likes 200 Dislikes 1

Still impressed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not impressive to eat things that can slice your insides. Not wasting is worse if what they insist on eating is deadly.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I thought they did, I was going to say what assholes

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Egg + Cornmeal + Blueberry + Bottled Water?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was thinking, what an odd Indian dish! That one's not in my cookbook of Indian cuisine.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If they powdered it it wouldn't be terrible. Might actually help with nutrient content

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can actually boil down eggshells for the calcium content. They do it for dogfood all the time. Dunno what effect on taste it has.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought purple flower petals and was confused until people said onions

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Right there with you. Second time too.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had to rewatch!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you turn it to powder it'd add some decent nutrients without fucking up the meal much

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Yeah I thought he crushed them up real good in the pan, which wouldn't make any fucking sense to do instead of before adding them.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It would add a weird texture. It won't dissolve or melt, so you'll end up with this powdery, chalky texture to everything.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

something telling me you tried it your self.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have bitten tiny fragments of shell before, but no. It's just an insoluble solid powder. It would be like having fine sand in your food.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You could have it as a flavor for bubble gum. That way it would last forever.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same, I was like, 'You're eating egg shells!'

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They look like red onions to me...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They didn't?

9 years ago | Likes 763 Dislikes 10

I thought the same, then realized they were probably onions

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought they were onions in the first place. i thought it was a giant omelet.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I had to go back and watch it a second time.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Same

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I thought so too. Glad I'm not the only idiot on here :p

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's at least 3 of us!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought "maybe they know something about nutrients in shells".

9 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 0

Thats a big difference between some ppl. We think, "oh well maybe they know something i don't." Others think "Oh look at this dumb fuck"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually that's possible. I know athletes that dry and powder eggshells as calcium + other supplements.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I thought "Maybe you boil them long enough..."

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hah, same. Thought "are eggshells secretly good for you? Need to look into that".

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, you can clean, dry, grind and add them as supplements. 100% calcium

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No - those were onions.

Just give it to a homeless shelter. So much better than canned foods or whatever, the shelter can make a buck go a long way buying wholesale

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You could be people like this. We could be people like this. What's stopping us?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my country (norway) this would be illegal without the proper permits and checks.. Unless you give shit from the store already packaged..

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, a lot of homeless would be skeptical of food given to them, because some asshats like to do things to food.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Very light pinkish-beige guy here. I too like spicy eggs.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I recall reading in a book about curry a while back that the chili were to help preserve the food. So the further south the more spicey

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So maybe thats another reason they could be tossing in the green chilis?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TIL Im a brown person. Thanks @OP, my life will be forever changed. Women wont go back, and my credit score dropped by 300...thanks..

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

What kinda brown are you talking about?!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It looks like they added curry leaf, not bay or coriander

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Entirely possible, can't really tell from the gif

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I thought curry was a mixture of many spices and not a plant in itself.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

it is the Kari plant. The leaves are distinctive in smell... and once you add them to hot oil... oh mama. Smells so good.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, 2 different things ;) , the powder

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn the person that put shift directly under enter!! The Powder has nothing to do with indian curry either and is a european invention

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeahp. But there's such a thing as a curry tree. The leaves actually do smell like curry and are most often used in...curries.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yum

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The leaves are hard to find in the West. They don't store particularly well in the fridge. Hard to preserve them and maintain full flavor

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That is why you go to an Indian store every once in a while and buy a few.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But boy, if you get a chance to find them, make a curry. Very distinct and addictive aroma/flavor

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i'm brown, i do not like spicey. Where is your god now?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Well, we have many, so... Which one?

Crickets are actually excellent protein. And supposedly more sustainable than beef, I hear.

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 3

You hear right! ????

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not eating beef is also more sustainable than eating beef. Plants have protein. Beef = overdose.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Anytime I hear anyone talk about eating insects (wild or farmed), all I can think about is that they're parasite warehouses...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Crickets are damn tasty, have eaten them on quesadillas and in tacos. Chapulines. Fricken yum.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

A guy pitched the idea on shark tank... I think he got a deal

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yes, it is much easier to feed crickets than steer.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

When you eat beef you don't eat its shit. Microbes growing in bug poo can make you sick if bug not frozen/boiled. Pesticides accumulate too.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You know that pork can contain parasiteeggs and you shouldn't eat it raw? Same with salmonella in poultry. That's basically the same.

except some dishes don't involve freezing or boiling bugs so don't eliminate the risk. Pesticide accumulation has caused problems in Asia.

Don't eat those.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You really don't have a point there, unless you only eat beef.

Thats similar to what PETA folks say about plant-sourced proteins... propaganda man.

They cover em in chocolate!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

People will probably never eat them whole but processed its just like any other "meat" substance

You are, you just didn't know you were. Now you know.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

They're good and you can add them to just about anything. They take flavor well and don't impart much other than a nice crunch. I like them

You wouldn't know, dried, ground and ur into a paste it's like peanut butter

If people stopped eating beef and ate pork instead most of the worlds problems with grazing space and deforestation would be solved

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

it wasn't this?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

then you'd have cows running wild, destroying property and kidnapping babies, is that what you want?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

but in Islam and Judaism it's forbidden and Christian communities see consumption of beef as a sign of wealth for the same reasons.

Many Jews, at least in the U.S., so not keep kosher. Pigs are delicious. As is shellfish.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah I'm like 90% sure kosher rules were written for food safety before we knew about sanitary food conditions

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

eh, as a Christian, I just like how beef tastes. tho I do love my bacon. Mmm tasty bacon.

Muslims hate him! Learn what makes CycloneSP so detestable to the world's fastest growing non inclusive group!

As a hindu, I'd say, nay, scream out loud how much I love beef, but with the current political climate in India I'd be killed.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah crickets need less food to produce the same amount of protein, that and the amount of space.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

How to harvest?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Place them directly into the oven. Season as you wish. I have heard of a company that makes cricket flour, so grind up the roasted ones.
