Stop trying to beat the US in our race to the bottom, you can't win.

Soooo, brits are as stupid and selfish as americans?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Atleast it's Jerry cans and not fucking cardboard boxes, trash bags, or better yet a clothes basket with ascending holes on the sides.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Streching the delivery system and then getting rid of a large number of chauffeurs is a bad idea.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I liked how to discuss cultural differences but every society in the West made a run for toilet paper.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And just like last time i will call em fucking stupid, if you really want to save fuel then ride a bike!.

Theyre offering emergency visas but theres no guarantee theyll be taken up.

Finland reporting in. We actually had a TP shortage @ early coronavirus. Every single toilet in every single home here has a bidet shower.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

atleast they are using jerrycans, instead of plastic bags i saw some people use.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't see anyone filling a trash bag or Tupperware come back when you are Florida level.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you guys have dipshits trying to fill plastic grocery bags, too?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not yet

Laughs in electric car / bicycle

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

1l diesel is 1.40€ in Germany. 1l diesel has 10kWh of energy. 10kWh electricity is about 3.0€. Electric car is still cheaper to run.

That's why EVs are still cheaper to run.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

should have told people there were only a few vaccines available

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

“Foreigners are stealing our jobs!” Well, here you go, idiots, the stolen jobs the foreigners are giving back to you… Have at it.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At least they dont use plastic bags...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So who's the fool... the fool or the fool who follows him?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

surprised I have a chance to use this gif again so soon

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

I gritted my teeth in frustration and anger, I think it's called a grimace. I am doing it again. I think I'm allergic to stupid people.

4 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

Then get political about it and build schools.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've done so! I put up a sign for the School of Pat Green Appreciation over at the local abattoir. Forgot they couldn't read; all for naught

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

That's a rough allergy, they are fuckin everywhere.

Benadryl knocks you on your butt, so it ends up working out pretty good. You just sorta collapse in a heap and the day is over like that!

That’s why we can’t get rid of em

Magnificent

The shortage is mainly caused because 2,000 HGV drivers retire every week and less than 1,000 new ones start. Costs £7,000 to train for HGV.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

No, it's fucking Brexit. Look at why the fuck that despite worldwide shortage no other country was dumb as fuck to shit themselves.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

1/3 The average age of HGV drivers is 55. During the COVID shutdown thousands decided to retire early. There’s also a backlog of 40,000

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/3. pplicants awaiting testing. Foreign nationals make up less than 10% of HGV drivers, & even before Brexit there was a desperate shortage

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3/3 Europe has better, free facilities for drivers, & although not as badly effected as the UK is also experiencing a shortage of drivers.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always supposed that they called them Geoffrey cans in Britain

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But Jerry cans came from the UK slang for Germans in WWII, so it makes no sense to apply old-wordisms to it.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Geoffrey is just the formal name what Germany's mom calls them when they are in trouble.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jerry as in German

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I suppose that makes sense. Yes, cease the mizering of those Germany Canisters!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All this nonsense because 2 supermarket petrols stations ran out this week and Exxon wants to pay its workers less than minimum wage again.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure all of these "The entire UK" stories just mean somewhere in London. Like usual.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Absolutely correct.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

All this from the news reporting a lorry driver shortage and BP saying that 20 of their 1200 stations didn't have petrol...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m not caught up. Why are they doing this? Is it cheap or something?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a logistical issue going on (transport truck driver shortage) which might, maybe, cause some temporary local supply shortfalls.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is this at all Brexit related?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe? I'm an outsider looking in, but I've seen a lack of foreign workers mentioned, but also retirements, pay disputes, etc.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I appreciate your answers thanks man

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The whole crisis part stems from everyone holding. Waiting in cars for hours, and thinking they will burn 3/4 tank of fuel in a week.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

unfortunately, most people in the US go through that much due to distances some need to drive every day...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does vary, I can burn 100% of a tank in a day on a bad day.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Your car is thirsty, get something more economical. My estate does 1300km on one 50L tank. You could ofc drive that in a day, but i doubt it

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It is. I'd love to know what you'd recommend then, that does more then 80mpg average.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

13,2 gal during 808 miles.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

to quote you: "Your car is thirsty, get something more economical". 61mpg would have me taking my car in to be serviced as there's a fault.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

61mpg, London to Edinburg and back in a single day. That'd be a bad day. A full tank on a bad day isn't thirsty.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I love how they called my car thirsty, then it turns out their car burns more fuel than mine does!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fair enough then. I'm getting way too used to encountering american people with huge gasoline V8's in the interwebs. Carry on.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I love that you think my Q30 (72mpg average), or the car it replaced (Xtype jage estate) are thirsty.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's stupid to hoard DURING a shortage. The smart thing is to hoard all of the time EXCEPT for during a shortage.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Except gas as a shelf life, hording it during good times means your gas as turned to shit when the times turn bad.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You just rotate stock a few times a year. When you need a fillup, fill car with cans and refill cans. Maybe add stabilizer. Its super easy.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How long of a shelf life? Hoard and rotate such that you use it within 90% of its shelf life. So says economics.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3-6 months, if it has ethanol in it the gas can go bad in a 1-3 months.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh… E10 here with some stabilizer added has been fine for modern cars and small engines for well over a year…and I’ve revived even without.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks for knowledge! A three-month supply would be enough to add demand elasticity, I expect.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s a bit worst case for the reality I’ve experienced, at least with E10. And you can add stabilizers to cans and such.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s not an American or English thing. Sadly, it’s human nature.

4 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 4

Perhaps to a extend, but we also live in a society in which hyper individualism and ellbowing your way to personal success no matter the

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The cost is promoted so we should not be surprised when people follow it through.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good point and I can see how this behavior may have roots stemming from capitalism to some degree

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bullshit it's human nature, if that was the case we wouldn't have compassion in general. It's a lack of empathy, either taught or ignored.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just don’t get if you have the cans — why aren’t they already full? If you know you’re going to prep….well, be prepared already! (We….

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

…have cans for hurricanes, so we can leave, get back for repairs, and leave again without refueling. Ir generator. But it’s full, and…

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

….and cycles through the cars a few times a year to keep everything fresh. Just casual prudence for our area.)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You’re lucky to have the funds and a safe place to keep fuel. Many don’t have that luxury but kudos for being prepared

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s true — certainly understand if it’s not an option. Just don’t understand our much richer neighbors that keep repeating this cycle…
