Eh, in Africa the things I'd be most worried about are (mostly) not the predators, other than crocodiles. It's cape buffalo and hippos that will mess you up.

Hyenas are almost-cats, but not actually cats. closer to mongooses, as I recall.

Honey badgers are in the weasel family (along with ferrets, otters, minks, martens, and of course wolverines).
