I never actually saw book worms, just the weird round holes that are signs of their passage through a book.
ByThePowerOfSCIENCE
there's lots of species whose larvae burrow books, plus termites and other adults

The complexity of a complex world frightens me and those who seek out this complex world to be changed and change it, give me existentialist lovecraftian nightmares about my own place in the universe

This episode is mean to this dude.
All he wanted was to read.
xizar
And this is why hyperopia is worse than myopia.
admiralawesome4213
Alright. Someone now has to redraw the last panel so the worm is this dude from T.Z.
SageOfDepth
It's already him, he's just been vermiculated
monkeydwolfwood
He gave up too early, there's got to be other glasses or hell a magnifying glass would work... Maybe

omg, I was going to type, "But there was time!"

This episode - fucked - me - up - as a kid. It was the first time I saw a fate like this in a TV show format. I had always thought of “bad guys” doing “bad things,” but this was different. It’s still an amazing episode, RIP Burgess Meredith.
joshuasplinth
For y’all looking at this comment, check out the other stuff Burgess Meredith was known for. The original TV Penguin, that old dude from Rocky. He pops up in a LOT of older stuff. He did four episode of TLZ, all of them great.
vegivamp
I, too, would like to know the show and maybe episode.

Oh, you’re really in for a treat! Other posts have the season/ep#.

I never thought I’d see the day where people didn’t know this was from the Twilight Zone. Episode title “Time Enough at Last”
joshuasplinth
So, I advise college students at FSU, and I am AMAZED each time I speak to a student and they “didn’t know X.” The absolute weirdest one was the person didn’t know Willy Wonka. Not JD or Chalomellete. Not Gene Wilder, none of them. Had no clue to any of their existences. I thought of this kid the other day when the FEMA guy didn’t know about hurricane season.

Good thing about being nearsighted is that I don't need glasses to read. Just to see things more than a foot away.
