#11 never been to Silsbee, but I've been to Channelview and Odessa, and I can confirm that they are good choices for elimination.

#12 it's not so much that someone upset it, but it's afraid of the dark

#22 all except B today. Chalking it up as a win

#13 In avatar, like in many mythological views of the world, the moon isn't a rock. It's a spirit. And sokka wouldn't know to call it a rock .

#15 Banana peel for scale?

I’d never seen #24 before. That made me laugh pretty hard. I was all feeling bad for her and proud of her coworkers and boss and…bam… hahaha

Imagine being in the stall going about your, ahem, business, and then a bunch of people do a fish funeral in the next stall. WTF indeed.

#1 Let me introduce you to the Ruyi-Bang and the Jingu-Bang

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Schrodinger has all the stuff because of those gunchucks.

#2 Always use excessive amount of butter.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#21 these are all bullshit, made up to sound smart, rather than old sayings of questionable wisdom.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#13 It is a bit fucking far away as well, might be a problem for bending.

#6 feeding an angel communion bread... This smells like a good setup for a Supernatural-type story of a rogue/fallen angel/Lucifer trying to usurp God's power by consuming his flesh and blood xD

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never asked this before, but why does Pornhub even have a comments section?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One use is when the performers aren't credited, people can ask/answer who they are

#50 as a young gen X, I can do both

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, but it's been long enough that "young" and "gen x" are mutually exclusive now xD

#13 She must have 1) heard about it, being the daughter of a noble and therefore been taught at the very least poetry since before she could speak, and 2) noticed that other people behave much less blind some nights than others.

#1 Gunchucks sounds like a weapon that would show up in Warframe.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Throw in a Prime Reach mod into your nunchucks, plus a +range Riven, and you're starting to get pretty close.

#38 we need to know more. What are the powers? How are they activated? Why are they contained only to his penis?

#2 chop, toss with olive oil and salt. Put on baking sheet with parchment paper. 400f (200 fan) for 22 minutes. 45 if it's baby potatoes. Listen to people tell you how amazing you are in the kitchen

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Or to save on dishes, get a fully metal nonstick pan, toss right in the pan and chuck it into the oven.

#13 Toph would definetly bend the moon just to prove she can.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they had just told Toph about the moon she could have been like, "Eclipse bitch! Goodbye fire bending!"

#2 med-high is the highest setting for a stove unless you are boiling water...med/med high is proper sautee

Properly caramelizing onions takes way more than ten minutes. Good pizza dough has been in the fridge overnight.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's not even a little true. Lots of things call for cranking the heat. Stir fry and searing a steak are two that come immediately to mind.

Dolly Parton is the original "Hannah Montana"!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, she is Miley Cyrus' godmother. Coincidence? I think not.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I concur!!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#21 Gah! These are all re-writings to "improve" the sayings after the fact. Not actually the origins

2 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 4

Tumblr being tumblr

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

But now you can find countless pages that claim those were the originals all just referencing each other. A giant circle jerk of "sources" if you will.

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

What about "a few bad apples spoil the bunch"?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is the accurate and full metaphor from *at least* the 16th century that people mis-use, not understanding it. https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/one-bad-apple-spoil-the-barrel-metaphor-phrase

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's not a lot of evidence one way or the other unfortunately

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 19

One of the replies to that post has a breakdown of the first published usages of each "extended" version vs the originals without the extra bits. These are mostly attempts at witty comebacks, not "the original whole phrases".

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

But there is?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nope. Those are all correct kiddo

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 16

Not entirely, the ones I am familiar with are legit. 🤷‍♂️

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 8

None of them are. The only slightly applicable one is the Jack of all trades saying, in that it was originally a compliment, with "Master of none" being the addition. But the further continuation was an even later addition. One of the earliest references to "Blood is thicker" does state that "water relations"(i.e. baptism) is stronger, but it does by referencing the original and specifically contradicting the commonly understood meaning.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not even that, they're "witty comebacks".

#11 i have those exact tiles. They used to be the backsplash in our old kitchen. Ripped out the kitchen, kept the tiles.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Experience shows that pickles don't work well as tiles.
