Or: cigars, sweaty socks, shoe polish, leather, old man smell, used coffee, pencil shavings, paint thinner, burnt licorice, ass, motor oil

"Tobacco" shouldn't have bothered to even show up for judging, apparently.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tastes like burning

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This looks like a character I made in dragonball xenoverse

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This this the first thing I've favorited in a long while.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Checked to see if any made interesting shapes, was disappointed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Favourited for extensive research

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you @op I have been looking for something similar to glelivet and didn't know where to start

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They all taste like flaming turpentine. But they smell delightful. Kind of like gasoline.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it weird I got slightly proud my home whiskey was on here

Lagavulin must be like licking the inside of a fire pit.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lagavulin is a nectar of the gods. Love the balance of flavors. Don't let the smokey and peaty nature worry you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Source or version w more pixels would be nice

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not sure where it was originally from. I found it on pinterest a couple years ago.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where's the: "It burns cause I'm a bitch flavor?"

Excellent f&f post, OP. Thanks!

I live near Glen Garioch (pronounced gee-reeh)! There's a rehab centre round the corner funnily enough

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fun Scottish fact Glen Garioch is pronounced Glen Geery, because letters.

Got a bottle of Speyside next to me. There needs to be a section for 'Tastes like shit'. Love Talisker and Glenfiddich though.

How does this chart give a correct overivew of different single malts from the same distillery? I mean, I've got two Mortlach at home 1/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

right now and I can tell you, they don't taste the same AT ALL. How does this chart take it into account? Actually curious, not trolling 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does anyone know if there's a chart like this but with beer instead?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you are a god amongst men.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But what about Glengoolie??

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This would be slightly useful if it specified which 'expression' of each distillery they're showing. 10yo? 15? 18? Named ones? Daft.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think it does a reasonable job of describing the general character of the distillery's standard releases, at least for the major ones.

Where does fireball sit on this scale, asking for a friend

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Right next to "Formaldehyde"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And poor life choices.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I like you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

LOL!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's "body" flavor? I mean there's a big difference between a lady's neck and a dude's foot

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

How do you know?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not if your blender works properly.

9 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

old man

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If a spoon will stand up in it?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Well that narrows it down to 3 places

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*whisky

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 11

* nectar of the gods.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hwhiskey*

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Both are acceptable. The Scots spell it whisky and the Irish spell it whiskey

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 7

No shit. These are all scotch, numbnuts.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 14

Haha, numbnuts.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

This list is incomplete. Where is fireball?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fireball isn't whisky since it's below 40% abv. It's a whisky based liqueur.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's funny, cause the bottle says Cinnamon Whiskey.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So...yea, it's a whiskey.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Barely

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What would peaty be called? Like when you sip and it tastes like eating peat and dirt on a moor?

9 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 0

I think for this, it's medicinal.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I call Peaty an asshole...he would steal my lunch money in 4th grade.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Lagavulin and Ardbeg both are great in this category. I've personally enjoyed both, but would say I prefer Lagavulin.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now I know what to pick up for hubby and avoid for myself. He already has Lagavulin, maybe try Ardbeg next.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Comes in a little lighter on the wallet to!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We used to call that ashtray scotch'

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Peat is partly decomposed plant matter used as fuel to dry/smoke the malt in the malting process. So it is that 'smokey' flavor.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's technically referred to as, "Laphroaig." (Also, according to this chart, smoky/body/medicinal.)

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Hubby always tries to kiss me after drinking Lagavulin or Laphroaig. I am not a fan of the smoke or medicinal, apparently.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What? Laphroaig is just one of 8 distelleries in Islay, a region that is notorious for its heavily peated whiskies.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Laphroaig is very smoky, but not terribly peaty. If you have the chance, compare it to Lagavulin. The latter is extremely peaty.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I add Laphroaig to my Bolognese and it's better than imagination.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

What's Bolognese?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

That or licking charcoal

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Welcome to Arberg then! That's how it tastes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the type of peat. There's iodine rich peat (medicinal) and clean peat (smokey, like a bonfire of burning leaves).

9 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

Can I buy this as a poster for my dad for Christmas?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I demand to see the chart on peat.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lophroiag comes to mind.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yep, very peaty. Love it!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hubby likes the strong peat. I don't. I can use this chart to try to finally find a scotch I can stomach.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Glad to help
