My first time at the state fair!

I've lived in Kansas my entire life and am a second year agriculture student, so I'm pretty sure the fact that I've never been to the state fair before is breaking some kind of law.

I went with some friends this weekend, and we rode all the fun rides and looked at all the animals. Here's the Ferris Wheel!

They had barns with all your standard farm animals in them for judging. Here's the poultry barn. Look at this guys cool feathers!

They had show rabbits that were judged and then being sold as pets (unfortunately I didn't buy one)

There was also a petting zoo with goats and a lot of exotic animals you could feed and pet. Here is a zebu cattle. I like their floppy dog ears

You couldn't pet the zebra. She wanted to eat our fingers. I think they look too much like carrots

Moving on to the sheep barn, all of the animals had sweaters and jackets to regulate temperature (and look adorable)

They had draft horses and they were freaking HUGE! I'd never seen a draft horse before so I was blown away. I'm 5'5 and didn't even come up to their backs.

I had a great time at the fair meeting all the animals, riding the fair rides, and playing the rigged, overpriced carnival games! I totally wish I'd gone sooner, if you have a state fair you should definitely go to it, it's a fun time!
