Sylvia is a computer girl from WWII. She Died in 1948 and haunts her mother's house. A writer/journalist named Oscar rents the house...

She and Oscar hit it off pretty well after he manages to stand back up.

They kinda dig each other. But there are some problems with that, obviously.

Wilde Life is full of really well composed panels and artful, charming pages.

As well as adorable stuff. (And also, scary stuff. And pretty stuff.)

See? Adorable.

But if you're a reader, writer, painter, or artist of any kind, there are so many things to catch. Slaughterhouse Five for one thing.

Charlotte's Web for another of many many references.

Chapter Art is full page, and amazing.

This is Clifford. He's another literary reference. You'll see.

Oscar takes everything in stride pretty well, but occasionally, he realizes just how bizarre his life has become. And it's hilarious.

I'm not affiliated with Pascalle. Just a big fan who thinks people should see her work. check it out over at http://www.wildelifecomic.com/comic/1 and if you like it, back her on Patreon, or check out the Kickstarter that's happening right now too! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lepas/wilde-life-volume-one

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Sounds a bit like Being Human without the bruding vampire. Miss that show!

Aside from the story being extremely interesting, Wilde Life's references are delightful and plentiful.

He's the man who drew that stick figure who asked "can I be drawn better?", and then asked for beauty and intelligence and called him father

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I had to look that up. You're right, Oscar DOES look like that guy!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There went an hour. I'm not sorry

Nor should you be.

So, any of you guys heard of "My lovely Ghost Kana"? Because if you dig ghost romance comics(-ish), you should check it out. It's naughty.

Welcome to the fan base. :)

This is my favorite web comic. Love the community as well.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This won me over when he found out the ghost girl loved to read - and got her some audiobooks.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Admit it, you had no producitivty to begin with.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha, one can dream

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This looks amazing but I worry it my be actually a bit depressing. I can't do depressing right now.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's not depressing yet.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I can't say what she might have up her sleeve, but I think she's ultimately about happiness. But certainly use your own judgment. :)

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

is the comic done, or still going?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still going. She's releasing volume 1 in print in the kickstarter, and it's definitely just getting going

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I freaking love this comic.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Movie release date?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was best hour or so ive spent in a long time, thank you!

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Glad you got something out of it! I'm sure the artist is as well!!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So, do they bang?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No...not YET at least

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So it's like The Office if Pam died and Jim moved into her apartment?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Someone posted the 1st chapter last year, This could easily be a tv series in 5-7 years.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is a really great comic!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think Clifford needs to get smacked in the chops w/ a newspaper. For someone w/ boundary issues he sure breaks into people's houses a lot

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just backed the kickstarter a couple of days ago, feel like the author should work for image or vertigo, she is that good!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We are SO close to getting that Sylvia one shot!! :)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hah! She did the Zap! comic too!. http://www.zapcomic.com/

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also if you hold your mouse over the comic there's a secret note for every page. Some are really amazing

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

definitely didnt just go read the entire thing... well maybe i did... but it was worth it

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's even a community with its own in-jokes in the comments! Oscar is never gonna get his hoodie back, is he.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It's Clifford's now!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But it's not like it's because they're friends, or anything. Because they're not. Obviously.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Of course not! He's just claimed it as his own in the name of his dark lord Sylvia.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The puns are out of control :)

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

cubs fan, soo the girl is as dead as any chance the cubs would ever have winning the world series ?

10 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 3

Wow savage

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This is one of Tiny Octopus' favorite web comics up there with Pepper and Carrot. He's a Patreon supporter too. Art lives matter...

10 years ago | Likes 347 Dislikes 17

"Patreon"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Check out Zap in Space. Took Chris and Lepas YEARS to complete, but it was worth it. Sometimes waiting for updates sucked...

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

man I remember reading so much of this comic and then having to stop. Guess I need to get back on it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

YOU'RE ALIVE!!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tiny Octopus wasn't aware that he was rumored to have been deceased. :D

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's pretty great so far. I look forward to seeing where it goes.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can you please to explain the setup? "Sylvia is a computer girl from WWII." It made me think maybe I honestly don't know what a computer is

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Before modern computers, a computer was an actual person who did computations. They did all the math that goes on in an ALU now.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

@TinyOctopus is a smart octopus

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It amuses Tiny Octopus that this comment has been downvoted by people not familiar with how Turing used human computers.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Tiny octopus points out that these women calculated artillery trajectories for batteries on the fly

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Thank you OP!! I just spent an hour and a half reading this! I'm completely enraptured!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

:D

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Guy in red is called Clifford,.. turns into a big red dog. I'll leave it at that :)

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

And the thing that makes that joke more fun is everyone he gets introduced do going "No way, really!? Like the dog? HAH!"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's too goofy not to work. XD

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thanks for posting it. just read the lot and added it to my RSS Feeds :)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Welcome!! :)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Subtle baba yaga reference. Love it so far

10 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Almost read it as bubble yoga

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or not so subtle. But still.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I was on strip 12 and came to comment exactly on this. X D

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ahh, the moment I was half sold on the series. :D

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can u explain?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The landlord's name is Barbera Yaga.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow how did I miss that

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

IDK. My youth was spent reading everything in the library's mythology and faerie tale section.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this the guy who drew the girl who kept asking for changes to be made, until she was a university graduate who said "Thanks Dad"?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a woman, and I don't think that was her. The artist in that comic looks like Oscar though

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm just happy someone understood what I meant. It reads like I was stroking out.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have any source, man? Sounds interesting.
