Where do I get me one of those fancy water jets?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Search "water jet machining" and then die slightly from the cost. A full manufacturing setup costs at least $65k

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That water jet thing is really cool

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On behalf of all things airsoft, fuck you, winding hi-cap mags.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm not seeing a gas cylinder in there...it must be one of the worse ones...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing inherently WRONG with aegs, but I hate hi caps with a burning passion

The walnut being sanded away reminds me of a cerebral CT or MRI scan.

#19: I love how the shrapnel is just some bullets randomly tossed in like hazelnuts in a Ferrero Rocher candy.

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

looks like the bullets from super mario

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well geez, I wonder why they looked like that

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Damn, the last one makes me want to carve stuff up in the garage with my power washer.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

The walnut one makes me want to throw up

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So are we just gonna pretend we didn't see the Lucas amiibo at the end of that last gif?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Suppressor increase accuracy? How? Why? Explain please. For a friend of mine of course.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok, OP, put down the knife and back away slowly.

The walnut one was borderline disturbing to watch

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Arm transplant??? Did that really ever happen?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've seen news stories about hand transplants before, from people who've lost hands in accidents, etc.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I read about one person who had hand transplants, but considered them more trouble than they were worth. Medicine's not quite there yet.

If the water jet cuts through anything... how come it doesn't cut through the table and the earth? Huh? Huh? Checkmate.

9 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 1

Looks like there's a water basin underneath the plywood. Of course... the only thing water can't cut through, water itself!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But it did.

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

You can definitely see that it does cut through the chipboard underneath. Dunno about the earth though.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Seriously impressed with how clean a cut that water jet makes.

9 years ago | Likes 369 Dislikes 0

Really makes Metal Gear Ray's main cannon a LOT more threatening.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, but I am more impressed was willing to water jet their 820 million dollar concert hall in half.

Screw Light sabers. I'm using one of those.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine using it to cut off the limbs of your enemies, brutal and horrific.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The water actually transports an abrasive that does the cutting. I recently quit my job as a waterjet operator.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Very "clean"

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Facebook steals videos but thanks for the sauce

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

but why the Lucas amiibo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How does it not cut the ground it's over as well...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Looks closely. It does cut the surface below as well.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The waterbed below deflects and disperses the pressure, plus all the garnet collects in the tank which also helps. Usually 1m deep.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well water ain't the most destructive force for nothing

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

They add sand and other substrates to assist

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

lukeskywalker.jpg

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I believe it uses tiny grains of sand within the water at an extremely high pressure. Too lazy to do the actual research tho.

9 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 1

Yep. Sand or other abrasives like garnet. Source: I used to work with a water jet.

9 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

me too! :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They must be super expensive to operate. And loud

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I used to operate one too. It was very loud. I had earbuds and over-ear protection. Cost was roughly $100 per hour of operation.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I believe they usually import special sand, but that's really all. They are very accurate up to around 20 cm, water spreads out eventually.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

not that expensive to run, but very very loud.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Suppressor, not silencer.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

Either is acceptable. The inventor named it "silencer". Many manufacturers that make suppressors, call it a silencer as well.

legislation, also weight.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

They make it more bulky, can't really holster it and such, it may be more accurate at a range, but in real world situations not so much.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

$200 stamp tax & months-long approval wait where legal, not legal in many other places.

Silencers are only about as quite as a car door slamming and are really expensive.
