Those are actually quite different and pointing a gun at yourself isn't something you should ever do. Holding the bar steady with your legs isn't dangerous because the chain will not move if the safety and trigger aren't engaged at the same time. Like I get the point your trying to make, but what this person is doing is perfectly safe, even if it looks dangerous.

Right. The gun will never go off so long as you don't pull the trigger and the safety is on. They're equally reliant on functional safeties.

Its not perfectly safe. It's statistically safe. Sure, the chance of both the safety and the throttle control failing is very small, but the fact that that chance exists is what safety precautions are for. And if they were to fail, I'd rather it not be in close proximity to my genitals.

I’ve learnt chainsaw safety in trade school and MAAN they spent a long time going over what could go wrong. I nearly brained myself once ignoring that bc “it was easier to do it the other way”.
