#6 looks like every Sim house I ever made.

I have a sudden strange urge to play The Sims and really suck at it.

Why are none of these houses on Ramsay Street in the Erinsburgh suburb of Melbourne?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

#15 is dope.

This is the one I liked too. I could do without that angle jutting out in the middle, but the curved fronts are great.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn’t matter, can’t afford any of them.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

#20 put a clock up there, get a Delorean, and baby, you got a time travel goin’

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Most of these aren't ugly but absolutely amazing

Some of these are quite interesting. Others, I agree...need help.

Man, I absolutely love the bizarro-angled houses.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I enjoy the wine glass and ancient Roman pantheon temple houses tho. I respect whatever alcoholic was determined enough to make those happen

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

#6 classic McMansion

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I kind of like #1.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#6 I thought this was from the Sims 3

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Man, everybody knows that roof's a landing pad for alien ships. v

Was looking for this comment +1 :)

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I can't afford to live where I am so these all look great to me. "Move." Can't. that costs too much too.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#8 TIL I apparently continue to have horrible taste. Don't care, this is cool.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wtf its awesome!

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#13 80s style! Kinda nice.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Same. Nothing wrong with that

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like one big bathroom

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You don't have planning committees in Melbourne?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I believe this post answers that question.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

In Aus you get planning permision from the local gov by submitting paperwork & blueprints. Its mostly building code stuff not astethic rules

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Negihbours get a copy of the applications & time to commment but on the grounds of saftey, size or impacting your light or space not looks

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Title is lying, they're good houses bront.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Hardly in keeping with the village's rustic aesthetic

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Greater Good.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#12 I swear this is in Williamstown - the house stands out in my mind, without the excessive Xmas stuff

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is that house.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#4 WOG fucking castle...my Greek buddy would be so proud to live there! @OP

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

I believe that’s in rosebud or rye.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

“What style did you say your home was built in?” “Vaporwave.”

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Put some windex on it!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

WOG boy WOG boy WOG boy.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OP seems like they don't like Greek architecture all that much

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They could have added a bit of actual color to it

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I am no musicians but I think #8 is pretty damn cool!

4 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 1

Yeah I generally don't like music and even I think that one looks great.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I think it's a solid design for a studio or music school but wouldn't really want to live in it

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Agreed. I was thinking it would make an excellent place for a museum.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

#1 Is my spirit home

4 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 4

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It looks more like a winery than a house, same concept for #8 it looks like a music building at a college

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Yeah the wine glass patio probably looks amazing at sunset. Area to the right of the "glass" is the ugly part to me.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It should be a hot tub

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Came here to say the same lol If it's not the house isn't worth it.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a winery here in the northeastern part of Italy

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

“Ugly houses in Melbourne” says @OP. Very first example is a winery in Italy

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some of these are dumb, some of these are quirky and neat, and then there is the mcmansions, lol

4 years ago | Likes 141 Dislikes 2

Oops! All roof!

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Right? #6 is just awful and hurts my soul a little.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

no windows. only ROOF

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looks like when someone doesn't know how to make roofs on The Sims.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Abomimansions

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Ooo- I LIKE that term!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh. Some of these are fine imo. The cool thing about your own place is that it's just you that have to like it. Fuck the rest

4 years ago | Likes 690 Dislikes 16

That music one is kind of awesome.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some unique, some kinda quirky cool... but I'd like to live in the mario castle house

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You do realise most of these somehow hope that onlookers will be awestruck with their beauty, right?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

And?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately it's not true any more in lots of places. Australia just has more freedom when it comes to "planning permission".

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

For real lifes too boring seeing all the same grey and brown houses all the time spicing it up makes life s little nicer. Some are fugly tho

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I'm finally at the point in my life where if it's not hurting anybody, I say do what makes you happy

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Depends. Many places have HOAs or municipal permits.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 14

Municipal laws are one thing, but if you live somewhere with an HOA, you bought the place knowing what they can and can't do.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

While true i'm going with the assumption that these got built with permits and then you're past that issue

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck HOA's

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but when you want (or need) to sell it, it can become a lot more difficult.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I actually like the music one. It's got a clear aesthetic point, not a lot of wasted space, and is fun. And #1 is clever, at least. Some1/x

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

are just very handy warning signs that the owner has more money than they need (looking at you, absurdly over-packed Greek plaza). 2/2

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Agreed, I know it's contradictory but I feel some are 'tacky' without being 'ugly' as OP has put it. Wouldn't do one *I* own like it, but...

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Honestly, I don't care a whole lot about the outside of my house. I care about comfort, utility, and cleanliness.

4 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 3

Get back in your cave, Steve!

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Your neighbors care. Local urban planning authorities do too.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

In some of these cases they actually don’t ?‍♂️

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My neighbor's lawn is full of 90s model trucks and a massive ice fishing house, we have a unspoken agreement to mind our business.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I had air conditioner installed on my balcony. They said I can’t do that without permission on shared walls. There is going to be a vote.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That sucks. I've lived in similar places, it's part of why I moved rural and refuse to buy in HOAs. People are the worst neighbors.
