A long long time ago I went to the monkey jungle in Florida. Their ad was you’re in the cage and the monkeys are free! I remember Hundreds of monkeys and some apes (chimps) all over the place. got shut down (also years ago) and the folks who ran it just walked away. Bet these guys are descendants. I work with exotic keystone species (mostly carnivores) and have worked with primates but they’re too smart for me. Can only imagine the hassle these animals are going to cause.

Oh Man, I have been actively involved with hunting down the people that are creating monkey smut and selling it online. The vast majority are from the states. This scares me that people are starting to realize they are in Florida. I will link a BBC documentary on it. Also, that is a pig tail. Out of all Macaques this one will be the most calm and chill, but that isnt saying much. I know there are longtails in Silversprings but didnt realize there were pigtails as well.

Glad to see more people are aware of this. Sometimes you get a video of a baby macaque on here, ya know one of those YT stars wearing baby clothes and eating fruit. It's so jarring how something that looks cute is really horrific abuse. Think what happened to the mother, what happens when the camera is off, how the babies don't get proper nutrients, and then what happens when they get too big. Or worse, if the owner decides they want monkey hater money. Sigh.

Dude, there is some nasty stuff out there I have seen. Literally jarring and I have had to talk to someone because of it. I HATE those monkey videos. Each and every one of them are showing massive stress signals and it makes me furious when I see them walking. I wish people would understand how pervasive and terrible this is.
