Hold up...what is American Style Toast? And who would sell bread pre-toasted?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I buy this at Lidl all the time. Basically, every presliced bread that looks like that is called a toast. We expect bread to be more rustic

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's the old world's lingo for sliced rectangular (American=sweeter in flavor) bread. If you want it toast, you get a toast (grilled) toast

And he doesn't even have his fingers over the sound holes.

6 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Like a trumpet, the handle has 3 buttons, which open the sound holes on the blade and plays notes depending on the combination of buttons.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If you covered the sound holes not as much sound comes out.

I think what bugs me most about "Dankey Kang" is that the woman legitimately thinks those words are spelled that away because of her accent

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I think what bugs me the most about it is that it's not real.

Why are loafs of bread called toast in America when it’s not toasted yet

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Loaves of sliced bread are not called toast in America, only toasted bread slices are called toast. Source: American

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The bread in one of those pictures says toast

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, it says: "American STYLE toast" which means it's some foreign country that thinks toast in America is untoasted

WHY IS THE BREAD CALLED AMERICAN STYLE AND WHY IS IT CALLED TOAST?? I'll be sad if this is like Canadians calling ranch American sauce but-

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look what we did to cheese, sausage, pizza and so on. :(

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's as big as fits in a normal toaster and sweeter than normal wheat toast. Bread made for toast is called toast or toast bread.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm. Thanks for the answer. Sounds like what we call Texas toast but not sweet.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not really sweet, but sweet like normal american bread, normal european bread doesn't have any sugar or other sweeteners at all.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can someone explain #14?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Spicy food burns the hole on the way out. But eating spicy food also releases endorphins in some people, or people just like it.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Actually misnumbered it. But (butt) thanks anyway. ?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is the bag of bread called Toast?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cause it's made for toasting? It's soft and nasty untoasted but nice fresh out of the toaster.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But in the picture on the bag it is being used to make a regular sandwich.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, after they toasted it or it has no texture. https://daten.buffcoach.net/upload/foto/800/mcennedy-sandwich-toast.jpg

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, you are right. That is a grim idea for a sandwich. Who toasts bread but doesn't melt the cheese?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Toast, American Style. I beg to differ. Bread, American Style

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In finnish it's paahtoleipä, toastbread. American style means sweet and as big as fits in a normal toaster, tastes all industrial and cheap.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most Americans I know don't eat that style of bread. Most people eat some sort of multi grain bread.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Surely that is bread, not toast?!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whenever it's cut like that, square slices, we call it a toast here in the old world. Even if not toast (verb)Bread is a loaf, more irregular

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Old world? Where are you talking about? Here in England toast is toasted bread, fuck all to do with shape

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean non English speaking. We call this shaped bread toast. We have a different name for toast toast. Translated to toast so makes no sens
