I like the idea of a gapahuk. Spend the evening around a fire maybe sippin whiskey, then crash out in your gapahuk!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel betrayal at the lack of a sauna.

4 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 3

this is norway not finland. finland is the guys with sauna.

4 years ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 0

Cant have all those buildings without a sauna, I’ll come help fellow northerner

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

dane..

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How do you v-notch the logs like that? First I’ve seen that method.

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I'm betting he cut to the center with a chainsaw lengthwise. Either once and broke off a quarter w/ wedges or simply two cuts

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Use the tip of the chainsaw to cut along the scribed lines. Whack out the "lateral" v-shaped waste and grind to the lines.

!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i dont know what the method is called its not a normal one but it works best with this timber-

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

the timber i use is from 1850 so its hard as bone so using this method is easyer than the normal ones

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

If I may ask - what kind of saw is used to make those length-wise cuts?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i use only a chainsaw

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wow - lots of work! (and gas and oil, and time!) Very interesting.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

been using a eletrical one because its lighter and thats nice when you have to carry it and use it is strange places.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those are great. Could you do a step by step of the building process? v

4 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

okai i made a post now about the clocktower and i will post some pictures from the building of my blacksmith and later the rest.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i got pictures of most of the building from the start to finish but it would take forever to sort all the pictures.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

So you're saying you kept a log of the building process?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i got pictures from start to finish from every building.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i might post some more later if am not to tired. gonna try to finish the garbage house today.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and am very on and off imgur so i dont think i will post all that inn a long long time

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No worries, but I’d be interested to see. You live in a beautiful spot, I’m in the UK and would love to live somewhere as remote as you.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i dont live as remote i got houses all around my land but it is on the country side so you have nature pretty close.
