Finally telling my story

I am a 17 year old boy and have lived with my dad my whole life he one most of the custody of my sister and I. I was 3 she was 5 so I have no real idea of them being together so them being separated never bothered me. At 5 my dad married a women he met on the internet from Russia (mail order bride) I was excited for him and for a year her being here was great! Then it started.... the mental abuse of telling me I was stupid and that I can’t go anywhere without being as smart as my older sister even though I was only 6 at the time and my sister was 9 I was barely allowed outside because my work “wasn’t at the right level”. She tried everything she could to keep my self respect at the lowest it could be. What has stayed with me the most from that age was she would read the papers I would write in a voice of someone who was the dumbest person possible. Even sometimes skipping words I wrote to make me feel even worse. This caused me to have a fear of writing anything and feel like I just wasn’t as smart as the rest of the family or kids in my class. Over time it turned into physical abuse once she realized that my dad wouldn’t stop her only scold her. One time thinking I said “Close the damn door” when I said “Close the dang door” which I can see why it sounds similar but without words or letting me know she walks up behind me when I am washing the dishes and punches me as hard as she can in my back. My dad said why did you do that and she said I cursed and she said didn’t you. And gave me a look that is only described as a threat. After that it happened more and more just little shoves and slams but when I reached 16 little over a year ago she crossed a line. I came home from my moms to her being mad that I can home on my Sunday that I was suppose to without asking her to see if it was okay with her and I said that she isn’t my parent and she said well I’m a better mom than yours and I raised you and I am your mom. I told her that sorry but no matter how hard you try you won’t be my mom and she lost it but not with words she ran up to me grabbed me by my throat and started chocking me while slamming me against the front door. The worst part as I couldn’t breath I saw my father, the man that said he loved me more than anything in his life, sit there and watch.

I saw this post and made me want to tell my story because now I called DSS and live full time with my mom and got myself into a private high school. Also got accepted to my dream college but now that I left the house and the DSS was settled because her and my dad said that I attacked her and I was an aggressive teen they tried talking to me and I went with it but every time she speaks or looks at me I think of what she did and how I can never get my childhood back that she took from me but this Post gave me happiness and strength to finally tell my story since still to this day my principle classmates and teachers think my stepmom was assaulted by me. @Latetotheparty23
