For the first time ever, after having my Etsy shop open for 2 years, I am 23 bucks away from getting the star seller designation! I have always had the other metrics. My only hang up was total dollar amount of sales over the month. But! I am 23 bucks away and there is still like 8 days left in the month! Here’s to hoping! Additionally, I am not trying to drive ppl there to get that money, I am just excited, and I am not going to put the link here, even if asked!

What's the link?

What do you sell?

Dude! Stop with the imposter syndrome. You're allowed to boast and brag about your accomplishments. Post the link and make your money.

I've been searching for some ice warrior minis like that to proxy as Valhallan Vet Guard. I don't need them riding giant cats though.

You really ought to just post the link for those interested. I assume "star seller" ups your visibility or something and if you're that close, you're just hamstringing yourself by not letting people nudge you over the line.

Post the link!! You never know who might see it on here.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

@op you can buy things from yourself to hit that goal

I put the link in my bio as one commenter suggested. Feel free to have a look if you would like!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bruh if you don't post and/or DM me that link........

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

There is a link floating around now, some suggested outing it in the bio, I think that was great advice!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aight don’t post the link. But you could PM me the link because I love Etsy and pretty much all my stuff for my marriage came from there. And I’m not promising I’d buy anything. But I would sure still enjoy looking at your storefront.

Etsy is genuinely awful. This game they play with sellers made me quit and move to Shopify. Etsy would punish me for 4 star reviews, even if the review literally said "its perfect!". They would punish me in search ranking for charging shipping for heavy/bulky items. I could spends hours complaining about all the awful changes they made from 2018 onwards when Josh Silverman took over Etsy as CEO.

I quit way back in 2006ish. They made it clear they would focus/highlight/promote only the really good looking stores with savvy product shots and the rest are screwed. It started as a good idea, but in the end it's all about the greed.

I was on Etsy since around 2013. The new CEO wanted Etsy to compete against Amazon. He expected tiny shop owners to offer the same services that Amazon offered. It was ridiculous.

Yeah, complete BS

Respect for not plugging yourself. Hope you get the sale.

Thank you!

Found it.

Put your store link in your profile. That way no one has to ask and we get to see if there is something we want to buy.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's there. Did you not check or did they add it after your comment?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They did it after.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I added it a couple hours ago after seeing the other suggestions to do so!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why don't you buy something?

2 years ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 3

Brilliant!

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Etsy doesn't allow sellers to buy from their own store. At minimum you'll need a second account to spoof like this but you're also paying extra fees etc. Star Seller requires an Etsy printed label as well so this is an expensive way to get it. Potentially worth having the star for November/December sales. (I was late answering one message so I'm probably not hitting SS next month for the first time in a year.)

Gotta be a rule against it.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Have family buy it. Pay them.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The rule's against getting caught. Get a friend to do it.

Just like prom night

What till last 24 hours and see if you get it naturally. I bet you will!

In multi-level marketing, this is referred to as "garage qualified" (where you buy your own product to reach a sales goal). [Btw don't buy into MLMs, even the okayish ones are still pretty much just scams]

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Mlm ... where each level is smaller than the one below. That's a pyramid! *gasp*

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's a reverse funnel!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Haha tease. You know we all wanna be that sale :p

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 5

Lol, I really appreciate it, but, I want it to happen or not, without me begging or anything like that. I super stoked to be at this point regardless!

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 3

Advertising isn't begging and if you think so then you need to evaluate why you think that

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

I’m… I’m super stoked to be at this point. Stupid autocorrect

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

See, you said autocorrect and now I read that as "super soaked". Here I thought I was on the wrong part of Imgur again...

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nothing wrong with promoting your wares on Imgur. We like supporting independent artists

2 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 13

Absolutely! However, as soon as it becomes known as a place to promote yourself then the advertisements appearing as actual posts come in and boom Imgur is dead.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

except the many times when it leads to downvotes to hell

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I just print stuff, my artistic skills are the equivalent or cad’ing up a washer I need for something lol. I just try to print really really good looking things.

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

I don't understand. You print others' designs? If so, do they get a cut?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It depends on the license. If it's Creative Commons and not "non-commercial" then you can copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially. You just have to give credit to the creator. Sometimes you have to pay for a redistribution license.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you want me to lie and make you feel better or tell the truth about how much money is lost to artists due to art theft?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The doing it the right way is buying the merchant licenses. If they are not free use items, typically you can pay an additional fee to the artist/organization to be able to sell items.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Put the link in your bio, that way the interested know where to look!

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yeah, what @Totallyscrewedinaustin said!

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This is fantastic idea, and one that does not break my promise of not putting the link here! I might do that!
