My buddy and I want to play board games, but we don’t know any two player games that only last about 20-30 minutes. We have Drakon which is sweet. But that’s it. Would really appreciate some recommendations. Thanks gang. Happy new year! Also I recommend Drakon! It’s awesome https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/171630/drakon-fourth-edition

Backgammon. One of the oldest, easiest to learn, and it teaches strategy.

For 2p, if you like cold war theme, check '13 Days' (for an even more compact version, '13 Minutes'

The dark souls board game is pretty good if you've got a full party.

Tsuru or Machi Koro

For two players, Hive (get pocket edition!) and Hanamikoji are both fantastic. Azul is great with two, but better with four.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/249259/war-chest is supposed to be ace for two, but I've no personal experience to confirm.

7 wonders. It is a game for 3+, but a two player mode is included in the base game. Still holds up

If you want a better version of 7 Wonders at 2 players, then get 7 Wonders Duel.

7 Wonders duels is the two players only game that actually improves the game .

Ascension, though it's more a card game than a board game. You start with some basic cards and build a deck from cards on the board.

Fireball Island!

I loved fireball island, so I looked at buying an old version. Then I saw the price tags on it.

Dominion is 20-30. Carcassonne will take about an hour but is great. Les Havre is fun but much much longer. Flux can be super short.

I just picked up Saboteur but haven't played yet.

Pandemic is a great players vs the game game. Betrayal at House on the Hill is a really fun group (3 or more) horror themed game with tons

of replayability since the layout of the “house” is random every game and the 2nd phase is dependent on what cards/items are in play.

Seems like flux is popular so I bought that to start. Star Trek TNG edition of course. I’ll move down the list. Thanks everyone!

Monty Python Flux is amazing if you appreciate the humor.
