You're right about not having the upper incisors, but they do have a dental plate and bottom incisors. The grass sits between their teeth and the dental plate, and they roll their jaw to the side when they chew. Instead of a clipping motion like a horse, it's more of a shearing one with the bottom teeth doing all the work as they try to move the food to the crushing molars in the back. It would still definitely hurt and cause irreparable damage to your poor fingers
