8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make someone's cutlery out of gallium as a sick prank bro

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have dice with a gallium core. You use it for magic tricks or to cheat at games.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In regards to the microbes, I picked up a really cute one at the store once... it was herpes.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stupid sexy ferrofluids.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gave my ex the herpes microbe plush, first time we went on a date. She found it funny...Her parents, not so much.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are tons of those plush microbes, I got Herpes the other day.

Miracle berries taste like shit

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I need a HIV doll.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Miracle Berries were the worst tasting thing I ever are. It turned all fruit to garbage.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The ecosphere ... don't do it. It's cruel. At some point the shrimp begin to starve and have to eat their own shedding.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Do they not eat their own shedding in the wild as well?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

+1 just for the username.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Gallium is toxic, please no disappearing spoons in your tea!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't drink the pool of gallium in your tea when you do that trick.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The plushies can be bought in Poland through website or in Centrum Nauki Kopernik, just saying, not sure if you can buy in other countries.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Those plush toys totally downplay how dangerous this pathogens are

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I bought galium a few years ago. Doesn't melt too easy in your hand but did when I assisted with a hair dryer. Was super cool.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My hot ham gloves melt it pretty good. Maybe you just got them cold hands. Also galium is a great gift until your friend unknowingly 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gets it on something made out of aluminum and destroys it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trinkets. Odds and ends. That sort of thing.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'm playing Skyrim right now this makes me happy

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"an object shaped so that it will return to an upright position without weights" - so ... a weeble?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Or a ball

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Without weights"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4000 times its own weight? So it can support a wadded up piece of paper and nothing more?

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

Essentially

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 10

Aerogel weights 70kg/m³, a 8x5x2.5 cm large piece therefore weights 7 grams and by the posts simplified metric can support up to 28 kg.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

How much to lift a car

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I never thought I'd say this, but I want a stomach ache

8 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 3

I got my wife a pack of them for Valentine's Day. Now she has syphilis, gonorrhea, and more!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My girlfriend got me that pack for Valentine's day, loved reactions when I told people she gave me STDs for Valentine's day.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I prefer the flu, he's so much cuter!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My company does healthcare stuff and bought a huge box of these. I have a pile of them, they are fun.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a gifts for geeks the microbes are very poorly described, more like dysentery with shigellosis.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Someone give me a sore throat

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can have mine... I'm sick of it

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're... SICK of it?!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That thing which turn everything sweet is perfect for blowjobs

8 years ago | Likes 124 Dislikes 0

It doesn't turn everything sweet, just acids like lemon or vinegar

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It makes strawberries amazing

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My first thought...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fuck! Now I want to get some to try with my husband.

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 2

Try bromelain. it works and is pretty cheap. https://www.reddit.com/r/sex/comments/47l010/oral_sex_started_taking_bromelain_to_make_my/

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dooot

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do it

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

Nice try, husband

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

They don't work like that, unless your husband has a very sour dick. The berries just cancel out the sour receptors on your tongue.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I tried the miracle berries. Don't waste your money.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

If you didn't just eat citrus fruit you wasted your own time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've also tried miracle berries. Ate grapefruit, lemon, and lime. Was fucking delicious.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

People forget those have sugars. When I was weirdly super sensitive to sugars even a hint of lemon juice was too much. Not diabetic then.

The only aerogel I want is for insulation. Does anyone know how good it is at sound absorption?

8 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 1

Apparently it's too good for insulation; causes the body to start overheating.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm looking at construction, not clothing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna guess there are a lot cheaper materials to use, that might be more effective too.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Probably, but the constraint I'm looking at is per unit of thickness.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably not great as it's 96% air

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 7

Sound travels though solids better than air so id say its probably pretty good

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

But really, for sound insulation, you want a much denser material that absorbs the sound. Sound waves travel through air pretty well.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Sound travels through water and solids like steel even better than air.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I was talking denser than air. Not necessarily as dense as steel.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it ain't happening yet, that means it's still too expensive. They have used them in probes to catch particles that couldn't be caught.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Had a brilliant idea in college to use aerogel to create translucent panels to allow light in, but still maintain a high R-value.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

But it turned out someone else had the idea first.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a low U value a better insulator?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The R-value is used in reference to insulation materials, which is what the aerogel would be in that application.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

R and U are inverses of the same thing. U = 1/R.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Got an EcoSphere. Lasted 3 weeks. Now I have a snow globe full of algae.

8 years ago | Likes 617 Dislikes 7

Instructions unclear? May you have it too much/less sunlight or heat or something

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, the algae still alive...

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ya done fucked up Ay-Ay-ron

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Ours is close to a decade old. You can't have them in direct sunlight at all, and ensure they get darkness at night. We put a hat on ours.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mine is 5 years old now, going strong with one shrimp. Don't put it under direct sun light.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I used to work in aquaculture, and it was impossible to get algae to grow. Algae only grows when you don't want it to it seems

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've got one that is over a year old now with a shrimp still in it. They have no way of gauging how old the shrimp are when its sealed.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Same. I've had mine almost a year and they're still swimming strong.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Mine lasted a couple of months before they all died. Shipping for the "free replacement" policy cost more than buying another.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Shouldn't they cover shipping costs?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They don't. It was a gift from my brother and I was kind of devastated when I couldn't replace it and pretend nothing had happened...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how they get cha

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They never do these days

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have mine for 10 years now.. Within 3 weeks all shrimps died except one. He is still alive! Forever alone in a sphere full of algae.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Meirl

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And the corpses of his comrades

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

He ate those

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

We have one that has lasted with live shrimp for over a decade!!!

8 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 1

See new post titled "shrimp near bottom of photo"! Sorry this is my first time posting anything!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

That's pretty incredible. I've never heard these lasting more than a few weeks.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Just find a good spot out of direct sun and just leave them there, don't move it around too much. I've had mine for 7 years

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's soo cool!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How much are they?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They are on Amazon. Not sure now but I got a small one for $60 and free shipping

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

$80 I was surprised when t was that much

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pics dawg. You gotta prove shit like this.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

*support.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

A picture of what? That wouldn't prove how long they had it

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I had one that lasted 7 years, till I left it in the hot car too long on moving day. Sorry shrimp dudes :(

8 years ago | Likes 131 Dislikes 0
