Anyone know the reason behind this kind of behavior? They don't have the cognitive abilities for fun right? Just curiosity?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Turns out fish are actually much more cognitively developed than previously thought http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/fish-are-sm

cause they don't have any feeeelings

Can a scientist explain this behavior? I'm interested in learning why they're so playful. I wouldn't expect that from a fish.

Don't know, my mum petted a fish in the seychelles, it swam up to her, she put her hand into the water and it pressed itself against it.

Had this exact fish for years, was always bitey but loved to be touched. Maybe they're interested in it?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Probably been trained to do that by giving food afterwards. Touching the fish messes with his scales and slime. Don't try this at home folks

My Plecostomus wanted head rubs, when I would open the top he would swim up and stick his nose out for rubs.

Like fish. And sheep.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

What he was trying to say is that pet wouldnt be plural as it isnt a noun, like fish and sheep

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well it is a noun, it's just also a verb and an adjective.
