outstandingly bad driving

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

Both the cop and the driver can suck here folks. The cop was aggressive and the driver might need to avoid highways.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This officer literally caused this incident. Scared the dude who shouldn't have been in the passing lane and he merged right into a car.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

I do this every time a cop is behind me.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

All I see is the Shrek truck

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope the police is taking in account they might have stressed them. Luckily no one was hurt!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Well. At least they used their turn signal.

3 years ago | Likes 298 Dislikes 1

They get a single golfclap for that.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

An attempt was made.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I worked with a lady like this; she hit a person on a bike pulling into our parking garage. Don't be like this lady.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

PoLiCe MaKe HiGhWaYs SaFeR

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Revoking this guy's license *would* make the highway safer.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We need to stop the white suv but we don’t have a warrant, ok boss, hold my beer I got this

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

"I'm gonna pull up behind them and count on the fact that they're a bumbling knucklehead."

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Like a boss

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a weird way to get Police-senpai to notice you

3 years ago | Likes 219 Dislikes 6

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...but it works!

3 years ago | Likes 483 Dislikes 1

And hold my beer!

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

…..and my joint

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would have shoved my breaks so hard for that tailgating (I had an anxiety attack officer, I thought I was about to get hit, sooooory)

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Everyone else feel fear and anxiety when a pig pulls up behind you? Shouldnt be that way, but it is.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Why not? I have no fear of cops, but if one pulls up behind me I still do a quick anxious check to make sure I'm not breaking any laws.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Because the situation may end...unpleasantly

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is Fort Worth, some of the worst drivers in the nation are in the DFW.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel for that guy, it's always nerve racking when a cop is behind you. The cop kind of created the situation.

3 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 21

You've got to have more composure than this in moderately stressful situations if you're going to drive a car.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The moment that the person chose to hit their brakes, they could have instead turned on their blinker and safely changed lanes.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

What, by existing? If your driving instruction disappears the moment a distraction pops up, you're a bad driver.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 9

The presence of cops does, in fact, intimidate people. If they don't intimidate you, either you have no self preservation or are also a cop

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Alternatively: I make sure I'm still going the speed limit and keep driving. That might not be black-and-white enough for you, I realize.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Everyone gets nervous when driving with a cop around, but if it makes you nervous enough that you don't even look slightly to the right 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Let alone check all your blind spots before changing lanes, then you need to get off the road and go back to driving school. 2/2

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

EVERY IMAGINABLE BLIND SPOTS? LIEK THAT'S SOMETHING.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wat

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I blame the cop; they enjoy being intimidating, causing panic

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 20

The cop is literally just there. Driver made several obvious mistakes.

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 7

He knows what he was doing

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Texas gonna Texas.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Fort Worth police? Fort Worth police

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

It's honestly sad that we Texans can identify when videos are from Texas and Texas police.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Tailgating cop causes accident…

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

interestingly, a problem that would never happen if people weren't intimidated by the police.

3 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 22

could be just a guilty conscience ?

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 11

Interestingly, a problem that would never happen if people just knew how to drive.

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 7

People panic about tailgating all the time.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even if cops weren't out murdering all the time, people would be afraid of a fat ticket. That dude is just a plain shit driver.

3 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 10

He really tailed his ass and seems the driver got nervous / wanted to get out of his way :<

3 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 9

Driver should not have been in the fast lane then.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 9

He was passing. He was in the correct lane.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

If you can get nervous enough to forget a car you just pulled up next to exists, you probably shouldn't be driving. Let alone on a highway.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Why the fuck was the cop that aggressive? Everything looked fine until they showed up.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

If that's all it takes, then that driver was a danger to others before the cop showed up.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh for sure, that driver should not have their license, but they definitely did not improve the situation.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It increases my paranoia
Like looking into a mirror and seeing a police car

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I used to own a retired police car. It was great to drive on a road with nobody else, but when you were on the highway, you'd get 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this ring of perfect little angels surrounding you, all going the speed limit. Known as the 'Halo Effect'.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Police make people too nervous. I don't do anything illegal and if I see a cop my heart automatically quickens.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Me too. I've always had a fear (rational or not) of police. I've improved with age, but they still make me anxious.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, with a cop around you're more likely to die. So understandable.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow. Good job for the cop to just fly up their ass and freak them out.

3 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 25

Wasn't "up their ass" until they hit their brakes on a wide-open highway with more than enough room to signal and change lanes, instead.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Didn't get pulled over for speeding

3 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 3

The best kind of correct.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dumb ass didn't pull over at all. He just stopped, in the high speed lane.

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Should have been pulled over for cruising in the left lane. That’s the passing lane, not driving lane.

3 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 25

its impossible to say for sure without knowing which state, but odds are you are wrong.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The left lane IS FOR CRIME!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was doing just fine until the cop showed up and they panicked

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

this, poor person

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

That is not a passing lane

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 19

So are you one of those drivers that think it's called the "Fast Lane"? I'll give you a hint...

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

It's not a "fast lane", it's most often a "passing lane" which is typically done at higher speeds. If you block people from passing you end>

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Being more of a safety liability driving the speed limit than the person you are trying to stop from speeding.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes it is, go back to driving school

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

Not all states have the same left lane law. No need to be pretentious about it.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

I blame the cop. Everyone was safer before they intimidated that driver by aggressively swooping in and tailgating. Not cool.

3 years ago | Likes 1103 Dislikes 162

I mean sure but that cop was probably on to them because of speeding. You can speed then get mad at a cop for noticing lmao

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

This is the guys fault. I know what you mean, i hate that shit. Especially when the lane to the left is clear.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep. Cops make traffic worse. They stop the flow and draw attention.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why isn’t this top comment

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

You might be correct, but you're not technically correct. Left-most lane has an unspoken rule known by all drivers in America. It speedy.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't know why the cop was chasing that guy, he could have been drunk driving and that's why he almost hit that guy

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Agree, but no. He did not "almost hit him"

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wasn't sure if he had or not

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You would. Assuming you also cruise in the left lane like that. Idiot driver deserved it and lucky he/she did kill anyone.

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 10

Wait, this isn't sarcasm?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

That's literally the cops job. They make few things safer

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Quick, push over, there's a cop on my ass!

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I got a ticket for trying to get out of the way of a cop tailgating me which resulted in "following too closely" after I changed lanes.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah dude was speeding cops always do that to speeders. tailgate to get plates and run them. would have been safer to let him speed.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of moderately stressful things can happen when driving. It's important not to react like this.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Nope. Dude was driving slow in the fast lane. Shouldn't have been there in the first place.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 10

they were driving faster than the cars on the lane inside, hence overtaking them, which is what its for.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

It’s on them both. Cop was tailgating 100% and intimidated the driver. Driver panicked and forgot to look. Both at fault, but cop caused it

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Blame the cop for triggering it? Ok. Cop didn't cause the driver to be bad at driving tho. Also, the braking likely meant they were speeding

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Agreed. That's why you should always always ignore them and keep calm. If the fucker wanted to pass, he can use the shoulder.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 7

Easy to say, hard to do

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

If this is hard, you should not be driving.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I agree.if staying in your lane to be safe is hard, then don't drive please

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or you could move over to the right lane like you are supposed to.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

The SUV had 2 valid Options: Keep his Speed and go in front of the white car. Putt on Indicator and go in the moment he breaks.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Last Option was what the Cop was thinking and breaks so late when not. Yes the cop induced fear in the SUV driver which led to the error.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They had no reason to be in the left lane... at least by the laws where I live....

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Although cops are a huge problem. The driver is more the issue. First, he's in the fast lane and should be passing. The sight of the cop 1/

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Puts him on edge causing him to hit the brakes. He then without signaling kicked into the next lane. The presence caused it but it's the 2/

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Driver who reacted poorly to stress

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry, without signaling ahead**

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, that person was driving like a moron and was about to get pulled over anyway.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 6

Someone drives into a car by their own actions and you blame…checks notes….someone else.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Cop gets a ticket for tailgating, the insurance company of the guy he was tailgating owes the driver he crashed into. The circle of life

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Agreed

3 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 31

I concur

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 7

Cops make traffic worse. Everyone's watching the cop. Only time they do any good is signaling stalled vehicles and getting drunks

3 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 32

God, you sound stupid.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 20

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They do that on purpose to force drivers to speed so they can ticket them

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 29

Or they do that bullshit where they intentionally hog the fast lane going 10 mph under the speed limit, forcing everyone to pass on right.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 10

Not sure why you got down votes and the other guy saying the exact same thing got upvotes

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No they do that because the driver shouldn’t have been in the left lane. Looks like they were already going to pull them over.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 8

This particular video cop may have chosen to bully someone out of a lane (still bad) but cops do habitually intimidate drivers, in any lane

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

into speeding so they can ticket them. They do this on residential streets too. I've experienced it and so have many friends.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Police intimidating people? Well I never

3 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 23

To be fair, it was a *black* SUV. /s

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Wait till they find out if you are black…

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's not intimidation by any stretch of the definition.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doesn't mean they weren't intimidated. Actions have unintended consequences.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're trying as hard as you can to blame the cop. I've been driving for many decades. In all that time I'd guess I've had hundreds ..1/.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

..2/..of cars rush up on me, not because I hang in the left lane but because while I'm passing, someone else wants to come by at 80. ..2/..

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They could do a better job if you gave them an intimidating paramiltary uniform and armed them heavily.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Lol all the bootlicking trash in the comments. The officer blatantly caused this accident by riding on the dudes ass and flashing lights.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 14

Dare to point out a cop might not be at fault and be dubbed "bootlicker" by default. You need professional help.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

At fault legally no. Because they’re immune. By being a piece of shit driver yes. And no. I don’t need any kind of help. Grow up kid.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Ah, an internet tough guy. I'm sure you deserve all the respect you demand.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

ACAB FUCK COPS

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

The cops triggered a situation but they didnt cause the driver to react so badly. It's like they were drunk tbh

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is no reason that person should have been in the left lane. There was plenty of room for them to merge before the cop showed up...

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

It doesn’t matter;”.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He was overtaking. Maybe not as fast as he should have been but he was

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

meh... that is very subjective. What reason did he have for overtaking anyway? Do we know the speed of traffic. No. We don't. Not from this.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Also, he is an asshole that ran into someone for NO GOOD REASON. So there is that.............

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Nope, cops do bad and dumb shit sometimes, but this is horrendous driving by mr. Left-lane-dumbass

3 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 10

Yup, I hate bad cops just as much as anyone. But nothing in this video other than a cop doing his job

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Why? He was going faster than the traffic to the right of him. Left lane is for passing, he was passing. Cop freaked him out and he slowed.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

The attempt to pull back into the center lane was very unsafe though. But the cop's actions might have set that in motion.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

You’re not wrong, but you gotta have a rational hierarchy when driving, a speeding ticket vs. killing your self and/or someone else

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He slowed and freaked out very likely because he was speeding in the first place

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you can't keep your car under control just because a car comes up on you, you shouldn't be driving

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The swerve/attempt to merge was reckless, to be sure. But everything was fine before the cop came up and started tailgating.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was no justifiable reason for the cop to come up that close behind him. If he wanted to pull him over, then put on his lights &

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remember, kids: police don't prevent crime. At best they punish it. *at best*

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 8

They just made a situation worse here

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

They triggered a situation sure. But they didn't cause a bad driver to drive badly. That's on the bad driver.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Mostly they commit it

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

This is also true.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Lot of bootlickers in this comment section today

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Idk what to tell you, friend. Some people just like the taste of boot, I guess.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When a vehicle rapidly approaches me from behind while I'm in the left lane... I move over rather than slow down, continue onward and then ¹

3 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 13

...blindly switch lanes into the car beside me that I should've known was there from basic driving comprehension. You just wanna blame a cop

3 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 16

cop caused it

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 15

So when you're holding a knife like an idiot, and someone scares you and you "accidentally" stab someone to death, it's not your fault.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

tailgating

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Sure. The cop caused the driver to be incompetent.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

TAIL GATE

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

This. Thank you. People do just want to be blame the cop. Driver shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Lucky they didn’t kill ne1

3 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 11

Lol are you the cop?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

I think it's more a matter of people despising tailgaters, more than cop hate. Yeah, the guy who tried to merge fucked up, but ...

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

noone should be getting that close, either. Fuck tailgaters. They don't belong on the road either.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Exactly. Left lane is for crime. It’s why the cops are always using it. For crime!

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Nah, should've merged back in a while ago. Also no clue why the idiot is braking on the highway. Finally not looking before merging.

3 years ago | Likes 360 Dislikes 50

He was definitely speeding

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

As one often does when trying to pass by people. Driving the same speed would make the extra lanes not very useful.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

He’s breaking to not get pulled over for speeding, poor choices but police cruiser was definitely creating a hostile scenario

3 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 5

Should've paid more attention around them then. Could've easily seen that cruiser coming. I continuously check my rear view mirror.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

I wouldn't have merged earlier. Between the 2 trucks there was probably about 1.5 car lengths so it'd be a dick move to the truck behind

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 5

Between the two trucks seems to be enough room for the dummy and the cop to fit comfortably. Also, use a blinker and people make room.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Just because I'm leaving a safe distance between me and the car in front doesn't mean you should cram in between us

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

If that person put on their blinker, instead of hitting their brakes, it would have given ample time for the green truck to yield.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was so much space between those two trucks it's not even funny. Outside perspective in traffic is a bitch.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He broke on the highway because the cop swooped in on him. He was an idiot, but it still wouldn't have happened without the cop there.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Could've been any other car, not an excuse, should've also clearly seen them coming. Don't put responsibility on others for your actions.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Don't put words in my mouth. Both things are true. 1) he is 100% guilty, but 2) this would not have happened without the cop there.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not how blame works. You're entirely in control of your own car. The cop car did not hit them and make them veer. They made a mistake

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

He would not have tried to get out of the way of "any car"

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If that's all it takes for a person to make life threatening mistakes then they don't belong on the road.

3 years ago | Likes 140 Dislikes 18

If all it takes for you to make a mistake is an aggressive guy with a gun and a reputation for unhinged violence then you are a human being.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

I had a driver crash into me with my five year old sister and friend in the car because she panicked when an ambulance was behind her

3 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 2

(nobody was hurt), just because sirens are blaring you still have to drive safely ffs

3 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

YES. And critically, not follow them when they slip through the traffic like a knife through butter. Soft butter. Not hard butter.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Merge? There's a car in that lane way down the road.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hugeass amount of space between the truck and the white car in front of it. Fits a semi with ease.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man I've got a lot of bad news about your standards of competence

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Yeah, as someone with multiple licenses, including motorcycles, I have an extremely high standard. Majority of traffic are morons.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I ALWAYS look for the safest place for myself in any situation, regardless of how fast I need to go to get there.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Think of the average person. Half of the population is dumber than that and has access to a vhicle

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The amount of people with this “blame the cop” mentality is wild. Left lane vehicle shouldn’t be driving if they can’t safely merge

3 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 17

just let people hate people....

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Shouldn't even be on the road with this complete lack of awareness

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Imgur has a fetish for prejudice against & demonizing all cops, cause of problems the US seems to have with undertrained triggerhappy police

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

With good reason, usually. But yeah you can't blame the cop for this

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And that's the issue, in this case it's clearly not their fault the but the comments are filled with people who automatically blame the cop.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, you can blame cops for lots of things. No doubt. But this driver being an idiot isn't really one of them

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, that police officers are systematically bad at their jobs and don't face consequences is why we talk about it as a systemic problem.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

This WAS obviously the cops fault!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Problem with that is that you keep thinking you're the only country in the world.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

This has always been, and will always be, a problem with power/authority. At least we live in a place where we can prosecute.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

We're not commenting on policing in other countries.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2
