So we all know this guy on the left. In case you don't, that is Vladimir Putin, the current President of the Russian Federation. And this guy could be a very huge threat to America and to a further extent, the entire world. Why is that you ask? I'll explain

Moscow

This capital city of Russia has a population of about 30 million (in and around the city) and about a week ago, the entire population plus another 10 million were instructed by the Russian Government to perform nuclear defense drills to better prepare their citizens from nuclear and chemical attacks. This seems a little random right? Mobilizing that many people to all go underground in a nationwide drill to prepare against nuclear attacks. I have a friend that lives in Moscow that had to participate and found the whole thing very concerning. But why are they doing this?

The reason is that the relationship between the U.S. and Russia is becoming more and more strained with the Russian Government stating to their people that the U.S are likely to launch an offensive on Russia. Recent events such as the Russian killing of civilians in Aleppo, further disagreements in Syria, and Russian hacking of American intelligence has caused concern for both countries. Some concerning things Russia has done besides the nuclear drill is moving nuclear missiles to the Polish border, buzzing US warships off the coast of Ukraine and intercepting US spy planes, withdrawing from a nuclear security pact on plutonium, and another one that is more concerning...

The Russian Government has ordered officials to bring back all children and other family that might be studying abroad or visiting other countries. This also includes Russian officials in embassies. This is very concerning as it shows that Russia are preparing for a conflict and seem like they are willing to engage in one.

Why haven't we heard much about this on the news? Well we're too busy focusing on these two complete idiots. Plus President Obama hasn't chosen to recognize this issue either. I just wanted to make this post to spread awareness and to warn people that something bad could happen at anytime.

Edit: So I left this overnight and a lot of people think that I'm saying war is coming. Just trying to say that these series of events are interesting and that we really need to rethink our strategy in Syria and dealing with Russia as a whole since they're one of the more powerful nations out there. No world war 3 probably won't happen anytime soon, and there won't be a conflict so you can put away your plasma rifles and nuka colas.
Also added some more sources since I realized these weren't the best out there, just pulled them from google.

Ok, using the daily mail is your first mistake.

http://www.snopes.com/russians-drill-nuclear-strike/ Not unusual in size for drills in Russia.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

You lost me when you cited The Sun. Utter tabloid bullshit and you sir are fishing for upvotes. Here's my downvote. Are you concerned now!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Y'know, I really don't think that Clinton is an idiot. I hate her, but she's too smart to be dismissed that way.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fear mongering

Red scare. Can't wait to turn my neighbor in to the FBI for communist comments for a sack of potatoes.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

...quote sources other than the Daily Mail and I'll take you seriously

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Reading from Finnish newspapers, these actions appear to have taken place. It's just that they're being presented very sensationally here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly not even worried

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

I don't like the guy, but Putin's too smart to want a war. It's just a continuation of the posturing/bluffing game they play with NATO.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Sun and Daily Mail are the news mags you see standing in line at the grocery store that says Oprah has hid the cure for aids in her vag

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Old KGB agent is just bombing civilians and taking territory to get Russia some RESPECT!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Lmao at using an article from the sun as a Fucking proper news source.

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

What would we do absent non-idiot Imgurians bringing awareness to non-issues like this? Thanks, Imgur for getting people riled up for naught

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

OP propaganda is part of the problem

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Yeah I've been living in Moscow for the last month and a half and have heard literally nothing about any nuclear drills...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure if we havent stir-fried North Korea yet Russia has absolutely nothing to worry about.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

When you source Daily Mail and The Sun, I feel confident saying you believe everything you read on the web

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Does The Sun still do the Page 3 thing?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now tell me why haven't I heard about it living in Moscow? I'm calling bullshit.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Do you have free press? ;)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is stupid because I would have heard about the drills anyway. Also do you? ;)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If the sun is writing about it, it's probably just a hoax...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Russian from Moscow here. What. A. Bullshit.

9 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 3

Glad to hear!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glad to hear it, American from America here

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Idiotic news websites just trying to boost their traffic.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just moved to tverskaya yamskaya, and sure as shit saw none of this. What the fuck are these idiots believing?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Did the Defence drills take place as the article says? (Getting a little concerned over here in the UK)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yes

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Really, because my friend in Russia says none of that shit happened. Take this shit back to infowars

9 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 16

And there are no war ships near Ukraine either.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do you speak russian? Because I don't trust these subtitles.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well maybe he lives in Town Bumfuck just south of the arctic circle?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

You think somebody would do such a thing? Go on the internet and lie ?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, just to be clear, you're claiming that your anonymous friend is more reliable than the 3 sources of new articles OP provided?

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 31

"news"

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

The Sun and Daily Mail are tabloids; American Thinker looks like some group of random conservative bloggers

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Russian from Moscow here. This post is a pile of shit. None of us even heard about these "drills"

9 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 2

How do we know you aren't a commie agent ?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You don't...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn commie agent, you win this round.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe you just didn't get the invitation, are you a Bolshevick?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Да

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or do you just want us to believe that?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

do I?.... Tuh-tuh-duuuuuum

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Those sources especially the Daily mail and the sun make me believe this is not in any way concerning. They scaremonger to sell papers.

9 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 1

The actions taken by Russian gov are basically as mentioned here. It's just that they're presented in much more "shrilly" in these rags.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

as a Russian, this news are the bullshit

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

That's exactly what they would want us to think

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The vast majority of ruskies don't actually think we'll launch an attack. Most Americans don't think they will either.

9 years ago | Likes 195 Dislikes 7

It won't happen. Putin is trying to fuck with the elections by making a scene.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

SOURCE

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually I remember a poll that said that around 75% of Russians view America as a threat. Didn't save source

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A threat does not mean they fear an outright attack.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, majorities don't have a say in either country.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Also, obamas ignoring them on many diplomatic levels as an insult. Putin wants a Cold War. Obamas trying not to give it to him.

9 years ago | Likes 114 Dislikes 7

Russians battle a cold war all the time. They have much more parkas than the US they'd win easily.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's so simple! Why didn't I see it before???

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Putin is trying to avoid a war Russia is being made to look the bad guy in all these scenarios Putin knows there won't be a winner

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 5

Yes there will. We'll set foot on the moon in spite! Or something american like that.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Son, you don't move nuclear launchers up when you want to avoid war. Russia is entirely responsible for rising tensions and we've given them

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

several easy outs. They've chosen animosity and now they're paying for it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Have you fuck given them easy outs all of the "deals" to lower tension have always had negative outcomes so Putin would obviously decline

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well what would you do if it were threatened with nuclear war by the biggest Warmonger in the world, its plain to see mate

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We haven't threatened to attack them. We didn't annex part of a European nation. We didn't drop out of an important treaty to reduce uranium

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2. stockpiles. We aren't purposefully bombing cities to rubble. Go look in a mirror. Russia is being shunned by the west for a reason.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know Putin's not some evil warmongering dictator right?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 11

Cold War does not equal actual War. Learn the difference and the political boosts it gives to those involved.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ukrain, Georgië and Moldavia beg the differ.. Russia took a lot of land from them and created proxy states

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And as for dictator; only pro putin parties are aloud in the Kremlin (comm, nationalist etc). Almost all opposition is jailed, murdered or

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You know he had public support from the populace in each of those cases. Mainly cause their governments were corrupt

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Silenced.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This has been covered extensively in the news. NBC had an article yesterday about how current relations are the worst since the Cold War.

9 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 9

The News: Telling us what to think since forever.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the internet, you can't assume OP has done any research or paid any attention to anything.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

We can assume that you haven't either.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's because fear gets ratings.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

NPR had a segment during rush hour too.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

But our nuclear plans have changed since the cold war. Nuclear engagement no longer means mutually assured destruction. Not that that's good

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

According to who? We've got ballistic missile defenses, but if one lands I'd bet the plan is still to carpet nuke every major city / defense

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whenever you see the phrase "Why haven't we seen this in the news?" guaran-damn-teed the writer doesn't actually pay attention to the news.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Sounds like political channels that always say we HAVE to show you this. Cough 'rebel media' cough

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, I assume they know but are relying on other's lack of attention to the news to make their claim.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

http://www.snopes.com/2016/10/12/putin-urging-russian-officials-to-return/

9 years ago | Likes 234 Dislikes 2

Snopes is Soros, always

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

all articles link to same source, which then has unnamed sources, which is very very bad journalism

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Plus that whole thing about journalists that don't fall in line accidentally disappearing in Russia

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Debunked

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Thank you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This, they are simply shooting stupid laws and using propaganda to 'rally around their leader' before the next presidential elections.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My man! One to step up to the witch hunt!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lmao, Man OP must feel just foolish about getting himself all worked up

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

More likely they'll find a way to dismiss this.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

OP is just spewing American propaganda

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Thank you

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

thank you what? They all point to the same shit source (a random tabloid in RU which nobody cares about)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As soon as I saw Daily Mail and The Sun in the links I smelled bullshit. Is American Thinker any better? I'm not familiar.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

NO!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So snopes says the officials aren't a big deal. Apparently it's normal. But what about the rest of this?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

There were 2 things. Recall and drills. The Snopes article addresses both. OP is correct about worsening relationship, but that's not news.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Well... it is, but it's not a reason to make a "the apocalypse is nigh" post.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Even if they had officially recalled officials, it would mean little. Recalling embassy officials is the classic thing countries do when (1)

9 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 0

No one is recalling embassies.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...an election is coming

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

tensions are running high, or an incident has occurred that one country wants to protest. (2)

9 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

We've moved defensive missile around in times like this and even sent navy ships off countries coast just to say fucking try us. Let's 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

hope it stays peaceful. Like I said, we've done similar things hundreds of times 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Stop posting logical shit.

9 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 3

Can't stop the logical shit posting

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My bad man.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

You lost me when you cited the daily mail

9 years ago | Likes 708 Dislikes 10

So, at the end of the post?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The papers in Russia that are publishing this shit are the Russian equivalent. This is not true. Gullible rather than fear mongering I think

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I was genuinely worried reading it and then genuinely relieved when I saw the sources.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The daily mail is a fine news source. They broke the story about the human clone factory that was discovered inside the reptillian moonbase.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Those were the days when journalist still had the guts to tell the truth.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This article presents a very limited perspective on this issue. The way it assigns all blame for worsening relations (1)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

on the actions of russia is very telling. Hostility and aggression has emerged from both sides of this ongoing shitfight. (2)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I generally think that Putin wouldn't wanna have his citizens turn on him, so risking a war would be too much

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you get a attacked, you have no choice.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

US wouldn't attack russia though, unless they provoked us personally at least

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And there is not a single russian soldier in Ukraine. Ppl belive what you make them belive.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's wrong with daily mail? I've never read it, generally curious

9 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 6

It's tabloid journalism

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That reputation holds true across the states as well. Saw the sources and immediately lost interest.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's just a hate filled, inflammatory sess pit of biased misinformation

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Yea sounds like FOX

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right-wing, sensationalist tabloid drivel. They also supported the rise of fascism/Hitler in Europe during the run-up to WWII.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's like the print version of fox news without the journalistic integrity

9 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 4

Fox News has journalistic integrity? damn, learn something everyday.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

They don't, but when you compare them to the UK tabloid papers you might be forgiven in thinking that they do. They're as bad as each other.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

And what's wrong with Fox news? I'm not from us so I'm just generally curious

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everything bro. Everything. It's an embarrassment to human intelligence and a reminder of the state of a large portion of ppl in our country

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had a minister to openly admit they had our official national news put out propaganda considering refugees. Fox can't be that bad

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's like the TV version of the Daily Mail without the journalistic integrity

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And Daily Mail is....?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy shit no way it's that bad

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

It may be be worse than that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, it is. The Sun is the same, if not worse. If you want to know how bad the tabloid newspapers are here in the UK I suggest 1/3

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

you check out the "Controversies" section of the News of the World Wiki page and the NotW phone hacking scandal that shut the paper down 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

And The Sun.

9 years ago | Likes 264 Dislikes 1

I read the sun because I'm pretty sure its mostly satire, but only at work because its the only way to kill time on my breaks

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

Unfortunately plenty of people read it as actual news and form opinions...like OP...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only time I bought the sun was when they offered a free lego poly bag every day for a week. Threw the papers straight out though.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I lost interest when they got rid of page 3

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

THEY DID WHAT NOW!?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No more tits

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All that time I spent playing Fallout is going to pay off.

9 years ago | Likes 306 Dislikes 6

Also, I'm rich.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you have a bottle cap collection?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. It took a lot of time and coke.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is it nuka cola?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I got an invitation from Vault 101. It's kinda far away (I don't live near D.C.) but hey, it's an invitation

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Shit, I didn't get an invitation. Can I access that online??

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I got vault 87

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In fallout Russia and the US are buddies, I don't know how it will change anything but I'm just saying

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The relationship was tenuous at best, actually.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Replace China in Fallout lore with Russia. New game: Fallout Go.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Man, they should make a fallout game for phones. One that isn't a shelter sim.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd love that. Raid stores, kill strangely dressed hobos, pick random ass locks, just for the experience and have a trusty dog companion...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You don't need a nuclear war to do that in Russia

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you survive the 200 years it takes for fallout to happen.

9 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 2

Just gotta ghoul up, bro.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

200 ? Nah, the first Fallout takes place in 2161, 84 years after the Great War.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'll be good, I'll be in a fridge with the ghoul kid

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

my question is, how are there still cardboard boxes in great condition after 200 years?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Probably made with asbestos, the fallout universe is set kinda in the 50s

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i have asked this multiple times and never received a better response

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its really all I can think of, plus lead based paints and inks will preserve paper.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No worries. As long as you survive the blast the worst that'll happen is you turn into a super mutant.

9 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 3

*feral ghoul

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

get your facts straight. They are made with FEV. Aka green goo

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

It's fine as long as your goal is to become a ghoul

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Let's start dipping

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay I'm not a fallout expert, I thought it was caused by radiation

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You are so not surviving the nuclear apocalips.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No. Radiation causes ghouls, and FEV creates super mutants.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0
