But seriously, where do we buy these things?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Epoxy shavings :(

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'll try spinning, that's a good trick!

i was like "noo don't cut the support, can't use it as butt plug without it."

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, not with that attitude.

This is a buff.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Now it can roll off your shelf

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can people give a few more seconds of video to the final product? You wielded hard, I watched the boring lathe part, I need to see it better

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If only there was a pause button.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Valid point, but I sort of wanted to see the video showing it from several sides.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you ever go too far and knick the object in the sphere? I feel like I would be too nervous to mess up the subject in the resin.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So much microplastic!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why not keep it square? ?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I like the part that it goes fast

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Perfect example of why this planet has no chance. Just imagine the trail of the oil used and wasted to make this plastic trinket .

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm imagining a tiny, quite alive pilot inside the fighter. And he's thrown up just everywhere.

5 years ago | Likes 285 Dislikes 1

And also dead.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then, 65 million years from now, scientists will clone tiny TIE pilots from his blood and open Stormtrooper Park!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

See Robotchicken Q wing skit.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

But how did they get a TIE fighter into a cube in the first place?

More confused than a termite stuck in a yo-yo

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Why not just make the mold a ball originally

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Beautiful even if Gifs That End Too Soon.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think the cube was more interesting.

5 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 0

I wish they left the pedestal on it, honestly.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The refraction and distortion of the sphere kinda ruins the look for me...

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Same and more cinematic, more empty space around the ship highlights it

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Found the Borg.

Star Worb

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I need to get in to resin pours

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’d like to see one with Luke’s X Wing mostly submerged in the swamp

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or maybe the second one, which also sank into the swamp. Or the third, that burned down, fell over, ?ℎ?? sank into the swamp.

Where does all the waste microplastic go ?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sea turtles.

How does he throw up with the mask on?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

the suit absorbs it all. He's non-stop pissing, shitting, vomiting

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does he feel anything if he's in 0 G?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would imagine he's actually in microgravity, being so close to large bodies like the Death Star, Yavin, and Yavin IV.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why didn't they just pour the epoxy in a cylinder to begin with?

5 years ago | Likes 132 Dislikes 1

Cutting a circle of wood is difficult, a square is just tablesaw or band saw and quick.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Or... a sfere.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Very easy to make a square mold, especially one that fits the wood on the bottom. The winning move is to cut the corners off before turning

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Because lathe. But yeah, good call. I also wish it were an underwater crash site and it was covered in kelp and barnacles and rust.

5 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

Maybe an x-wing then

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Still need the lathe to turn the cylinder into a sphere. This way just wastes a ton of resin.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

gotta maximize the amount of plastic that will end up in the oceans after lathing

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

I just toss it on my pile of burning tyres to avoid that.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Right? I was thinking about taking this up as a hobby.. but after watching this I'm pretty sure all the tools would bankrupt me ?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

if your patient enough, you can do this with a cheap belt sander and a buffer tool and some hand sanding for the high grit sanding =D

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the patience is the hard part though... sanding takes fucking forever when done by hand X'D

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cutting a circle of wood is difficult, a square is just tablesaw or band saw and quick.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

For epoxy you can use any water tight container

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean cutting a relatively circular shape isn't that hard in my experience

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is a cunt for myself on the bandsaw

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless you lathe the wood first. Obviously got a holder to do so.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Then you need to reattach and have a mold the right size. The square is still far easier.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on the numbers. If it's a one-off, probably yes. If you're doing a lot the same size, the trouble of making a fitted round mold 1/

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ is probably justified to save the resin costs.
