So many people may know about what is happening in South Korea now. I myself, as a Korean-Canadian, was interested in this issue and decided to do some research on this. There is a scandal involving President Park Geun-Hye (above) being influenced by Choi Soon-sil, a daughter of a shaman cult leader. President Park has used shamanism to make decisions and even has allowed Choi to see some covert government documents. This angered many Koreans and hundreds of thousands of them took to the streets to protest against President Park.

Here is a photo of protesters outside the Seoul City Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul. Source: Al Jazeera

Photo of protesters, which numbered at around 130,000 protesting in Gwanghwamun Square, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Taken November 5th. Source: New York Post

The most insane of them all: This one is also in Gwanghwamun Square, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Protest organizers claim that over one million people gathered in the square to cause the political uproar. Due to these protests, the usage of the subway stations Gwanghwamun, City Hall, and Gyeongbokgung increased drastically due to their proximity to prime protesting locations. Source: The Australian

So what do I think about the issue? Well, I do think that Park is a pretty bad president, but I do believe that an impromptu election is quite difficult to organize as of now.

So, what do you guys say?

I thought it was way more than 130k?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

thats how you protest murica take a example they have less expirience with so called democracy then you who cant accept a simple fact

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I say South Korea is best Korea anyway… And I would kill for some 수제비 or 콩비지 tonight…

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is what a protest should look like: people banding together, peacefully, to have their voices/opinions heard. Not setting fire to shit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the protests are so peaceful i was actually a bit flabbergasted because it's such a contrast compared to the one's i'm used to seeing on tv

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look! Protesters that don't have to burn down buildings, loot, and hurt people.....who woulda thought

As a Korean, this bitch infuriates me to no end

Chinese media claim 10 million protesters. Not sure if nationally or Seoul

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is probably nationally as Seoul itself has a population of about ten million.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

how is she still the president?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wolololololo FTFY

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never go full Rasputin.

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't this be going full Nicholas II?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

i thought it was the wife that was conspiring with rasputin?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well, yes, but a president is much closer to a czar than the wife of a czar.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nothing wrong with being influenced by The Shamen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFJdUJg4wOk

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The hysteria and conspiracy theorizing is unwarranted. She wasn't making decisions that were systematically worse than other politicians.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Apart from the national security breach and the fact that they weren't actually her decisons, suuure. Shes like a Korean Hillary.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

1) National security breaches happen all the time. 2) Most national leaders' decisions aren't their own.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So if people actually cared about South Korea then they'd be laughing at you guys instead of TRUMP.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't forget that she's the daughter of a previous South Korean dictator

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder how many of them broke and vandalized a bunch of shit in "protest".

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Almost none

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder if it was a bishop or a cardinal would people have the same reaction.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Hopefully

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If a public officials was sharing classified info with a bishop? I'm hopeful that it would be the same...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Hope so as well but wouldn't be to confident about it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When pope francis visited seoul, the aforementioned subway stations had to close because so many people were using it.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Catholicism actually has a decent image in Korea, Protestants on the other hand are seen as radicals

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This'd never happen in North Korea.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's cause that fat fuck Kim Jong Un will kill anyone who attempts to overthrow him.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NO IT BECAUSE NORTH KOREA BEST KOREA! South Korea doesn't even have "Democratic" in its official name!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seeing so many people all crammed together makes my anxiety rachet up hard.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Lol. I actually would want to go and scream a few words.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

think of all that poop in their bowels at that exact moment the picture was taken. crazy

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a very unique way of looking at the world.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agoraphobia.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Ochlophobia

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't that fear of open spaces?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No it is fear of situations you can't escape. Being stuck in a crowd, going outside and walking 20 blocks from home, a bus ride; all 1/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

these things are about being separated from your safe place (usually home). An agoraphobe can feel totally comfortable standing in an 2/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

open field across the street from their home. Fill that field with people so there is a crowd between them and home and they get anxious. 3/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Finnaly something else then USA circle jerk

9 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 15

Yes, but what do the South Koreans think about Trump?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A tweet I read "the US had a historic election between the first woman and the first idiot as president. We have both"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*Finally

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So we focus on this first, THEN bitch about the presidency?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe he wants something else similar to the US circle jerk so they can then dive back in?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Every other post is griping about griping. They don't need to dive back in, they never got out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*than

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 6

Maybe he was so happy it was something else, that he wanted a good ol USA circle jerk after.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chances are that both are accurate.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's not the one that bothered me

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

who you finna cry

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Ima finna die

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wow, I wish people in my country cared enough about politics to mobilize in that level. Amazing

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's a nation the size of Kentucky with 40 million in one metro area capital city, things work different. Also why their telecom is good

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Wrong. About 24 million people reside in the sudogwon area, which includes seoul, incheon, bucheon, ansan, seongnam, goyang, and yongin.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what? But its population it's only 50 million...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wikipedia just told me 83million

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sudogwon is the metropolitan area of Seoul.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wrong. About 24 million people reside in the sudogwon area, which includes seoul, incheon, bucheon, ansan, seongnam, goyang, and yongin.

A shaman is still better than a hunter or a mage, no?

9 years ago | Likes 233 Dislikes 6

Midrange shaman is my greatest pride, took me to legend before it became mainstream.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Wrong stats, so no

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not if they're elemental

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Druid ftw. Boomkins are so OP, but not in the faggoty way.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Not since they gave those classes their own Bloodlusts.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah they can wear mail armor and do decent DOT

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just be glad the church is a shell of its former self or youd have palidins all over the place.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SMOrc

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or, god forbid, a bard!

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

She would have been assassinated for that.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Depends on talents. Enhancement shamans were OP

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

Were? Thanks to so many others getting nerfed they are right now.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, if we're talking Hearthstone, midrange Shaman OP.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 8

Ouch, did not expect to be dved so hard. Just wanted to contribute to the Shaman conversation. I guess I didn't word that very well

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I'll take the EQ Shaman

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Pvp and pve they're pretty good. Shamans can bloodlust in arena and bgs now

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, tbh, that depenFROSTSHOCK!!!1!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

FRAOEST SHOAOWCK!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just came back from an 8 uear hiatus and was sad to learned they got rid of frostshock.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They did what?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Frost shock is now restricted to elemental specs. So no frostshocking as enhancement.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Boo.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From what I gather, many here in SK think she's the Shaman's puppet, and she's incapable of leading, which infuriates them greatly.

9 years ago | Likes 192 Dislikes 1

As a Korean I prefer our leader to be a Paladin, who can tank and heal! HUZZAH!

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Paladin leaders are the best leaders...until someone goes full Death Knight. Then you end up like Lordaeron.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Exactly. You've hit the nail on the head.

9 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

If Rasputin has reincarnation figured out, there'll be no getting rid of him.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So, the reasons above are concerning and need to be addressed, but has she done anyone any harm as a result of her policies? I'd hope (1)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

there's more to the protest than not liking who she chooses as friends. (2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When your friend is the secret leader of the country it kinda is no? Like if Dick Cheney was secretly leading the country. Problems

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's proof she's just a puppet?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's what I understand from looking into it. That's why everyone's out there.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when you show your "friend" government secrets, it's a problem.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'm not defending her, but what secrets? Do the protesters even know? I'm trying to understand what is really going on, here.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If she's the one being influenced are they really "her" policies?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I guess it depends on the degree. I'm not familiar enough with all of it understand, which is why I ask. People are influenced by their (1)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

friends, everywhere. Everyone is, no debate about it. But is it to the extent of brainwashing or something? (2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those friends and family aren't the figurehead of a country. She is. She has a lot more responsibility as a president, its her job.
