There's only 6 possible orientations-- it could take up to 5 seconds to try all six, so get on it.

I usually cut my plywood upside down so my chalkline leaves a better line. Then when I cut the face side, it's easy to get mixed up.

That's what I meant, but the wood has two distinct faces. Which is what I meant by backwards. But idk if the facing direction matters.
