Have a better idea?

Armed vets (possibly with PTSD) surrounded by annoying teenagers...what could go wrong.

"misguided" seems like a really apt adjective for this group

It's perfect since veterans never go crazy and shoot people!

until one guy slips through all the tests and procedures, snaps and becomes the problem now with added assault rifle

Send them all to boarding school on tiny secluded islands like the dutch

Clearly the only solution to gun violence is more guns

I hear school districts have limitless funding. Let's do this!

I feel that this should fall under the defense budget.

Yes. Let's put someone with PTSD, who's brain will play tricks on him while under stress, in front of a school full of bratty kids and 1/2

assholes, and then allow that guy to be armed. Nothing bad can happen there. 2/2

Until all 3 veterans decide to shoot everyone. Besides, 3 guys cant be everywhere, a shooter could still spray an assembly.

Less likely though not such an easy target

Speaking as a British veteran; “This is terrible idea”. I wouldn’t have let my guys anywhere near the public (and especially not their kids)

The veterans you want won’t be the veterans you get. Track Vehicle Repairer Snuffy doesn’t know dick about providing protection.

Lol i know how to stop school shootings, more people with guns! Genius...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, let's arm some people disproportionately suffering from serious depression and PTSD and put them around children. /s yall are tarded

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I like that a lot better than "just give guns to everyone". I'd rather use the military money for that instead of more tanks we'll never use

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 7

Oh come on, we still got plenty of desert in the states to park more tanks in ;-)

It's now common to place an officer at every school in a district. They are trained for school shootings. The school in Florida had all 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This and it did not help. We need to focus on mental health and Nationwide regulation, not per state. 2/2

What a well adjusted individual! When can he start?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

He takes alot of bathroom breaks and suffers from extreme headaches. Idk if you want this guy.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean I understand what your logic is but that's not going to solve the problem. Not to mention kids shouldnt have to be reminded every-

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Day that their school is not "safe" you see a guard with a gun you don't think yay, you think why is he here and what are the risks. The-

Issues you cause having armed guards just creates an unrealistic senerio and won't ultimately solve the problem.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

One, they already have hired resource officers at most schools, two, if you hired 3 for each school, whose paying? Last I checked most 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

school systems don't have much spared money as is. I can not imagine many people will want to do a 40 hour a week job for free. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Its almost like we could solve this by putting one in every class by letting legally allowed teachers and staff to carry.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Your solution is to have a violent shootout take place in our schools? With someone who may already be suffering PTSD?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

Not all vets have PTSD AND make them all closed campuses. Have a better idea? Mya e we can give the shooter a time out then set him free?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Or maybe we could improve our piss poor mental health system in order to treat these disorders before they result in dozens of dead kids?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe we could screen those who are purchasing firearms for mental illness so the shooting never takes place?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Why only three... how about two at every entrance, metal detectors, and identification papers/Travel documents...

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

Sure works wonders on any one of the open campuses.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Make them all closed!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

By design thats nearly impossible. Then you have colleges which suffer the same plight.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

ah yes because as a population veterans are extremely stable and not prone to violence or crime at all. super idea.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 13

You have a better idea Jerry?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

every developed country in the world has a better idea. ignorance is not problem, political will is the problem.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Bahaha, so veterans are unstable criminals now?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

i'm struggling to imagine how you can be unaware of the mental problems returning soldiers struggle with.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Boy, you like to assume things don't you?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

Oh, so you knew your counter argument was nonsense when you made it? I'm not sure that's better.
