This C64C used by a small auto repair shop for balancing driveshafts has been working non-stop for over 25 years! And despite surviving a flood it is still going...

Always upvote C=! All including the Amigas were ahead of their time. Still have my C=64 and Amiga 500.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is it made of nano-Nokias?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sure that thing will get the "upgrade to Windows 10" notification soon..

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

LOAD "*" ,8 ,1

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is it just used as the weight?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I bet you can still read the screen even if it's turned off.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is the most awesome thing I've seen all day.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Load "$",8,1

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I adore my 64....

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm digging out my Vic20 when I get home and see if Radar Rat Race still works

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The vic-20 is far less failure-prone than the C64. It'll probably work fine. Maybe you'll need to replace some capacitors though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

C64. Still play the games online. The memories....ahhhhh.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I replayed Ultima III a few months ago.

It simply has reached a level of consciousness and doesn't realize it's dead.

My friend wants to know the meaning of this

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

its the "numbers" from Lost, the 2004-2010 Hit American television drama series.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That ended in a huge pile of disappointment.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I actually really enjoyed the ending. I never believed they were all dead, still dont

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not penny's boat

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I had a memory upgrade for my VIC-20, switchable in similar kb increments

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The numbers, Mason. What do they mean?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

PREVIOUSLY, ON LOST

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

The beauty of old technology is the concept of 'if it breaks people will buy it again' was not yet implemented.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Some kinds of C64 had a hellacious failure rate.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Differnce is, this wasn't a disposable all-in-one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

GOTO 10

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

if / then ....... lived by this AHHHHH BASIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After surviving a flood, not despite surviving it.

Jack Tramiel, my hero.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They don't make'em like they used to?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The C64 was notorious for poor quality hardware and failing components. Mine's one of many casualties.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Unlike the N64

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The N64 has a higher failure rate than most other nintendo hardware I've seen, but it's still a good sight more reliable than the C64.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't *ever* remove that floppy from the drive.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

why?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With all the dirt and crap around? They were notoriously finicky to begin with. Take it out, get any dirt on it, it will never work again.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

ah i see what you mean

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

LOAD "BALANCE THAT SHAFT" ,8,1

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Crap, I forgot to specify port 8, now it wants me to press play on tape.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Screw work .. Load"californiagames",8,1

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

oh man,..californiagames,..hehehe

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You guys had to name the programs? I just stuck in the disk and said LOAD "*",8,1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Occasionally there would be secondary games on the discs, but you are correct, most of the time * would work fine.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

jeez. I had the fast load cartridge. ctrl-shift

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

also, wasn't it LOAD "$",8,1 for directory?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh man, this brings back memories. Pirates. Might & Magic. Wasteland. Load Tunner. Bards Tale. Silent Service. Space Rogue. Red Storm Rising

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Spy vs. Spy, Congo Bongo, Pipe Dream, Burger Time, Mario Bros., Jumpman, M.U.L.E.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ultima, Knights of Legend, Destroyer, Test Drive, Empire, F19 Stealth Fighter. So many games. Dual 1541 drivers. Pure 80's awesomeness

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I taught myself BASIC on a C64....fuck'n ay. I also see a 1541 in the back there, which was pretty much a necessity. 5 1/4 floppy's...whoa.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup. That's a 1541-II - beige color and a more solid flip lever.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's NICE....wow...pretty amazing tho isn't it?! It reminds me of the show: Halt and Catch Fire, on AMC. Have you seen it?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haven't heard of it until now. Three seasons already? Nice. Time to dive into it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not sure how many seasons. Someone else told me about it. I bet you'd like it!! Try it. It's so retro it's not funny & you can see the C64!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine died when I looked at it funny. My VIC-20 works though.

9 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

I have one of that too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sweet, a C-1541!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll asume you are one of those mechanics that could easily remove the bolts in the tires with your fingers and say that that look was more

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

'that look was more...?'

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Bolts in the tires....

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Man, I love the Atari joystick.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I was an Epyx 500XJ man myself.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had the Wico bathandle big red joystick. That thing was awesome. We used to go through the stock joysticks like mad.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you look closely under the table, you'll see the atari itself.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's because (to quote William Shatner) "unlike games it has a real computer keyboard"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The keyboard is horrible to type on, but yes it does. Wish I could transplant a Macintosh keyboard onto it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I suppose that's the downside to building to a certain price point. I bet they never thought the machines would be around for so long.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Back then the mac hardware actually cost something compared to its retail price...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Check out my SX64

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What's that game?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Amiga 500

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you have a spare Apple IIe? I have a monitor in DIRE NEED of a computer to match.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sadly no! I only have two SX64 machines, one breadbox and an A2000 from that era. I'm downsizing due to moving.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I only have an a500. Gimme.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's that game?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you watched Halt and Catch Fire on Netflix? Interesting show about this era in computing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice snes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also 4 famicoms (japanese NES) & Super Famicom.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Give me one.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha, got anything to trade? I need an Apple IIe for my monitor (and am also willing to consider other offers)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a pretty sick bike. I take it off sweet jumps everyday. Let's do this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thought it was a live action fallout

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

"there's a monochrome CRT so obviously it's fallout"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The only game where just getting put of bed is a major accomplishment.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the computer game "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" on my IBM 3161 terminal. Not actually fallout related.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know. Don't you remember all you had to go through? If you haven't played it, try it!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I GOT THE BABEL FISH. For that I can stand tall and proud.
