Inca Gods

want to learn about some old gods?

Hello Imgurians, I always browse this site and i love it, I think it's time I share something with you now and i hear you like art.
I'm a digital artist and this was my thesis project I did some time ago to graduate, It's about 3D models of some Inca Gods. It took me 1 year to research, design and create the gods, I hope you like it.

As requested I'll do Aztec and Mayans gods as soon as I get some time, Also would you be interested in a physical book with all those gods from different civilizations?

Viracocha

Viracocha was the god that created everything, the sun, the sky, cats, dogs, plants, hoomans. He came out of Lake Titicaca, he had a son, Inti (the sun) and daughter Quilla (the moon).

Inti

Inti was the God Sun, the most important Inca god and son of Viracocha. He was the most venerated to the point that there is still a festival just for him in some parts of South America, the Inti Raymi.

Quilla

Quilla was the sister and wife of Inti, she was responsible for all the female aspects of life. She was venerated by an order of female priests in the temples of the sun.

Supay

Supay was the god of death, He was the ruler of the underworld called Uca Pacha. He was also feared and incas made festivals and gave offerings so he wouldn't get mad. He was associated with Satan by the Spaniards.

Illapa

Illapa was the god of thunder and lightning, He used a rock sling in one hand and a mace in the other, and lightnings were created every time he waved his sling to attack.

Amaru

Amaru was the god associated with rainbows, He had the body of an anaconda, 2 llama heads and condor wings.

Pachacamac

Pachacamac was the god of earthquakes, earthquakes happened when he was angry. The earth would be destroyed if he moved his head from side to side completely.

Apu

Apus were the gods who lived in every high mountain and protected hoomans. Incas believed when sickness or bad luck happened to them it was because the Apus were angry.

Pacha

Pacha was the goddess responsible for the reproduction, fertility and birth of newborns.

Cat Tax Ccoa

Ccoa was a black female panther who was responsible for all the destructive hail storms, created with the movement of her tail.
