Shelter doggies!

This is Karu. We think he's half German Shepherd, half Caucasion Ovcharka. He's a little over a year old, is totally massive, and when he first arrived, was not friendly and growled at me.

The last few weeks, he's let me approach him. I actually petted his belly. He has never even lied down in front of me before! What progress he is making!

His paws are the size of hands, and he is always real serious-lookin'. But he is incredibly beautiful, and with a lot of love and gentle discipline, he will be a wonderful pet.

Is Kati-Kambja part Karelian Bear Dog? Who knows, but she's a handful. Super friendly and energetic, she's only a few years old and has a pretty cool name.

Maalo is upset that I'm gonna go pet other dogs. Sorry, buddy! I played with you already and now it's their turn! We think he's half Alaskan Malamute and half German Shepherd or something. He knows he's a majestic beast, so he'll need a no-nonsense person.

And then there's Rocky. Rocky is a fat little dachshund who really, really wants to be your friend. He's an old man, over 10 years old, and whoever took care of him had to go into assisted living without him. I hope this sweet guy finds a home soon. He's not made for these lonely days!
