Finally finished my cosplay mastersword. Over 160 hours of printing but came out great. Tried to go with an antiqued look.

EDIT: adding link to the 3d model used for credit https://www.myminifactory.com/object/zelda-master-sword-7579

It's dangerous to go alone.

You should make another for a friend, then duel and see who's the weakest link

Someone has unlimited money to spend on filament, dang.. Looks good, but why mot make the bladen out of some wood or something? Way cheaper

As a recommendation, use aluminum tape, apply with steel wool, then age by painting it black and wiping it off.

How much it cost in materials?

Was probably about $15 worth of PLA. I usually get about 1000 grams for about $20 on Amazon and then this took roughly 1/2-3/4 of a spool

-personal opinion- i think it would look better if that handle looked like it had a little wear to it

I agree and have been tossing the idea of some leather wrappings or added brown paint dry brushing to wear it a little

I'd say a black wash then a clear gloss.

@OP you printed this out in sections?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes the 3D printer I have allows for smaller sections at a time and then glued them and sanded down to smooth it out

Really cool, what software do you use ? How did you separate each piece?

There is a big community of prints out there. I used one already split on myminifactory.com but have split other projects with blender
