Lost way too many friends to Conservative Politics over the years. We were skateboarders, punks, pot-heads. Grunge, Gansta' Rap and our parent's 60's rock. We've all had our ups and downs but going from "fuck you, I won't do what you tell me" to "well, if they'd just 'complied' they wouldn't get shot." Worse, wondering why their kids can't stand them.

Military rules of engagement and, of course, having actual consequences (i.e. no qualified immunity) helps a lot. But still some Military do get pulled into it for their own reasons (2nd amendment, etc.)

I still keep track of 3 guys I knew from elementary school all the way thrive high school. One was always the short angry man- Cop. Second was always the one who didn't get jokes, bad grades, didn't understand movies, no imagination, factory worker, biker, MAGA. Third was always the quiet one, funny, but quiet, witty, intelligent. Professional Wedding Photographer, and gay. Strangely, they still hang out together.

I had a friend (we never hung out but it was a small school) in high school who really couldāve been a bully but never quite crossed the line from sorta jerk to outright mean. He later dated a girl who was super in being dominated which fed his violence, she loved being punched (super uncomfortable to be around them) - fast forward heās an MSP PD, and I thought for sure when I heard the Floyd news, that Iād see him. I managed a fast food place. Had a guy working for me who was *useless.* I mean literally any task I'd give him he'd fuck up, whine, and give up. He didn't last long. And he was in his 20s, not some fresh-faced teen.
BUT his daddy was a cop and pushed him through BLET, and now he's a town cop. To my knowledge he's been involved in two excessive force claims.
I ran into him at a Chinese place years later. I dropped a few insults that went over his head and got the fuck out of there.

Every athlete that drank away his scholarship in high school became a cop, minus the one that couldn't pass the psychological exam and became security for self storage units that got fired for bringing his own gun. So you can imagine their de-escalation tactics were top notch

My guess is that the Security guard company does not have license to have armed guards and if one show up whit a gun.. that can cause a lot of troble for the company. alternative the health insurence requires all staff using/carrying guns to carry a company gun that the company or someone have inspected and put a in complience whit regulations (aka health insurence will now cover it) random beat cop shows up whit his Gluck 9 is it maintained, does it even work and all that.
