Watched it mostly though 12's. My eyes are fine, no spots. Although the one 14 we had to share was much more pleasant viewing.

I need to become a welder...mrowww...

Burn with me!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can confirm.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

This needs to be made into a painting

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's how I watched it today. Except I had the glass piece by itself and used it with my regular glasses on. Worked really well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hopefully they have masks with a Shade 12, or higher! NASA says anything between 12 and 14 is safe to use for sun-starin'...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Burn with me...

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

So glad I'm not alone in thinking that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Let's go ahead an add welder to profession that automatically makes a man attractive

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Gotta love a man that works hard for his money.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

as a welder. no. really no

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Welders a good idea

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would suck 3 out of 4 of those idiots.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not gonna lie, I just wore 4 pairs of sunglasses

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

We used 5 pairs lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weld done

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, but it's the sun, not Medusa. If the risk was as high as everyone is screaming it is, wouldn't a LOT more people be blind??

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not fully blind, but "blind". Your eyes will be badly damaged because you can look at the sun longer than usual but the sun's still bright

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh for Christ sake stop being pussies, put a fucking 9 or 10 in and don't stare at the son of a bitch for 45 minutes. Look.... Take a break.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Why am I suddenly into welders?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I knew nothing about welding til the last few days. But because imgur, i know i need a grade 14 eye mask thingy to stare at the sun.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Destiny 2 looks great

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

without the context and some light photoshopping, this could look incredibly unnerving

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do your worst @GassyWizard

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't have any Photoshop skill, but the good folks over at /r/Photoshop battles do

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Light" photoshopping. Quite the unintended pun, I assume?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The goggles, they do nothing

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

"I'll show everybody how tough I am."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hahahahahahaha

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mandela Effect. "My eyes! The goggles do nothing!"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Careful! Dont spook them! Its very rare seing a wild group of welders of this size. Move slowly and we MIGht get some pictures...

8 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyy

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BOO!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just use a TIGgh crop to clean up any photos of them.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I just have to find them first. My desktop files looks like an ARCeologic dig site right now.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weldetss always have good arms

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Welding masks are typically rated to 12, but 14 is required for sun watching. Not like these guys eyeballs don't already itch at night.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 5

No its not. I don't under stand where people are getting this its 12 to 14 with 13 being optimal according to nasa.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I'm in Montreal so we only saw it 60% covered. But at the peak I just donned my darkest shades and took a split second peek. Can still see it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope all of you welders had grade 14 lenses

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Where is everyone getting 14??? NASA said that 12 or higher is fine. Most welding helmets go to 13 which is optimal.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I also think all welders dress this way

8 years ago | Likes 338 Dislikes 2

Can confirm husband has ripped off all his sleeves.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

As a welder....Well, shit. You may be on to something.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In my experience, they do

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I bet they all have the sleeve

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Poorly?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

No, black tee, no sleeves and jeans

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Without sleeves?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yep & black tee, jeans

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am a lady welder and I do not dress this way. I wear sleeves. I'm not too reckless

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

my boobs get well covered but I would wear short sleeves

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dont wear sleeves if I'm doing light tig welding on SS

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Enjoy the skin cancer

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a big dude and I wear sleeves too. Burning hot sparks burn.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I learned torn jeans at the knees 90's style made for a painful experience

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've lit my pants on fire like that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A molten glob of stainless will turn the biggest man into a cursing baby lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well yeah, gotta be more careful because of the whole, hot metal hopping in Victoria's Secret Compartment thing

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I got lazy and decided to sit down while welding overhead (tight spot) anyways I long arced and it went through my pants and burned my ass

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to fall a lot trying to wander around with my mask. Everything goes a pretty green when you wear it but also dark obviously

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is how welders do.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think they all have beards too

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Flame retardant beards.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They grow on us, the extra light helps growth

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We all do. Even the ladies.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every welder I know has a beard. It's part of the job.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Natural filters"

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Seems unsafe?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually safer... Keeps hot flash off yer neck.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You gotta lift it up to eat from time to time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Tried. Got down voted to hell.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

So did I, and it doesn't do anything if you just look for a second

1s is just bleached proteins, 20s later tissue cycled naturally. But keep it up, the photoreactive chems get less stable, form radicals, bad
