Here is the finished image first. Baby pallet - it's so cute

Board thickness is entirely up to you.

Old wood

This one has been sitting around for some time.

The one?

I thought this one was the one but It cracked badly, So I decided to use the pallet behind it.

Crack is bad

Don't crack mmkay

Use saw

I used a saw to to cut the wood from the pallet.

Did three boards by hand

And then I realized I could cut the rest with a sawzall I had recently purchased.

Pallet tops and bottoms

Theses pieces are for the top and bottom of pallets. I forgot to include pictures of the middle boards. They are the same process only cut a little smaller than the top.

Also the pallet is measured 7.5" X 7.5" so just cut every piece to 7.5" inches in length.

Test fit

Putting the pieces together to see what it will look like.

Looks good

A little bulky but I like it.

glue up

Use the 5 min as directed on the instruction and glue up all the pieces of the pallet. Or you could use nails but I didn't want to risk splitting the wood.

I forgot to add the picture of the glue up but its pretty simple. Place glue at all the points each board comes in contact with each other and then place a weight on top of it.

Glued! and ready for nails.

I spent half an hour looking for this tiny hammer. I just had to use it for this part.
I found some tiny nail/tacks that look like pallet nails. They don't go all the way through the wood, just there for looks.

Place two nails at each point where the boards meet.

The prop pallet all finished.

Don't forget to add a nail like I did in this picture, and if you could use a sharper blade to cut the wood please do or the edges will come out burned like this one here.

but I kind of do like the way the burned wood looks now.

I didn't sand the pallet down because I wanted an old look to it.

All Done

have fun with your pallets. :)

Is this a troll?

Can you make this prop with wood soaked logs or do you have to use a pallet?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You could use any wood you like, might just take longer since you have to cut down the logs to planks. It is possible though.
