One was sharpened because the person who commissioned it wanted it to be sharp. The other doesn't have a home yet so I left it blunt ish

Handles are made out of brass that I've aged. Might not be for everyone but I love the mottled look

I like plunge lines

The blades have been gun blued, they're made out of 1084 high carbon steel

Also made leather sheaths for them! These don't attach to a belt, they're moreso to protect stuff from the blade if you're throwing it in a bag.

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think of em :)

My father brought one home from WWII but a so called friend stole it. Sure would like to replace it but pops has long since passed

Very nice! Would love to have seen some sort of embossing on the leather. (I do that kind of thing.)

Look good, i have an original 3rd pattern found under a neighbours house when she went into a home.

Honestly thought these were computer generated graphics, thought it was a bit too perfect looking. I will have to look again later with more time

Very cool. Been wanting one for ages now, but alas, they're really hard to find here. And international shipping would definitely kill me. In my experience, it's pretty common for the cost of shipping to be more than the item itself. Several times more, in some cases. Still, one of these days I'm going to get me one of those knives. A man can dream.

Very nice work. For the handles, was it a metal that already had the rough filing to it or did you add those?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you! I turned the handles out of some solid brass round bar, once they were to shape and polished I knurled them and then used an acid to artificially age the brass :)

Hell yeah, next step. Ensure they work right by taking down some fascists

Nice grind lines. Looks good.

These are beautifully hand crafted works.
And yes, machines were involved in making them, but the hand and eye coordination required to operate those machines, like an extensions of yourself, is skill.
These are products of your creation.
And, to be able to replicate that, takes real mastery!

These blades are made for murder. One up grip one down grip.

Neat. I've always loved the aesthetic of the Holbein dagger, and would love to have one without any unfortunate stuff on it.

I've always loved the aesthetic of them too, they're really cool. Such a shame they're so heavily associated with that part of history

Yeah. But they existed a long time before that. Someone gave me an odd repro collapsible knife with that "branding" there's no good way to remove it. But it is a clever mechanism.

Beautiful work. I've wanted a nice FS knife for years. Still have other, higher, priorities atm, unfortunately. Still, very impressive stuff here. I also really like the 48 hour FS knife you've got on your website

I have my grandpa's original. He was with the Foxy 29. I look for this knife everywhere I go

These are beautiful, I've wanted one for years, but I have too many pointy things already.

I collect knives and daggers and these are great

Thank you!

Those look amazing. What does "second pattern" mean? Google wasn't much help, user error is likely.

There were three main designs of this knife, this was the second iteration.

The first patterns had a ricasso, a curved S guard (originally 3" wide but very quickly changed to 2" wide), and weren't blackened (they were roughly polished with a nickel plated brass handle).

The second patterns removed the S guard and the ricasso and then blackened the whole thing.

The third patterns changed the handle shape (gave it ridges instead of knurling)

10/10 would assassinate a monarch

Will it cut/kill?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Any piece of metal will cut or kill when used with enough force.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It wasn't really a cutting weapon. It was designed specifically to stab Nazis in the dark.

@op! These are great where can I obtain?

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Thank you! My website has a bunch of stuff, otherwise if you're interested in one of these two just send me a dm :)

You have some amazing items on your website! Glad I was able to easily find it by your user name.

@OP this is the second time I'm saying this to a brilliant creator today: although I may never own nor afford your blades they are PHENOMENAL! Know that I appreciate your incredible craftsmanship!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it :)

This is the type of knife that I love. Well made with good materials without being gaudy.

The Fairbairn Sykes is the classic example of ruthless design of function over form, which still manages to be elegant.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Beautiful work. Are the handles wrapped or knurled?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you! The handles are knurled brass :)

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Those are pretty. My latest. It's not pretty. Limited resources.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Love the wrap on the handle!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are these tempered?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They don't seem upset, so I have to assume so.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Deadpan for the bedpan.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes they've been hardened and tempered, they should be sitting in the high 50s HRC

Beautiful work. You should be very proud!

When do I get mine? Great work!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you! Any time you want hahah

Just wanted to say I found your store. Favorited. It will take some budgeting but I think I may find my way back there. Just wanted to say again, excellent craftsmanship!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks again!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those are beautiful. Really excellent work, and I'd buy one if I could afford it!

2 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

Thank you! Really appreciate it

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I would buy a pair, and I can afford it. Can you message me for commission details?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For sure! Will dm you

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How many hours of work would it take to make something like that? I imagine those must be at least 20h of work in all. Even if it's only £50/h, that definitely puts them out of my price range. Would love to be able to afford something like that one day, though.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's around 16 hours each, I charge 650nzd for them including the sheaths. That works out to be ~£310 so £19 per hour

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, you're underselling your talent if you ask me! Do you have a store or something though? I may want to bookmark you for a few months time when finances aren't so tight.

Haha thank you! I do have a website, gonna be adding a couple knives to it today actually.
