The White House released its national security policy last week, and it's a doozy.
For starters, it takes the 200-year-old Monroe Doctrine and supercharges it, seeing the Western Hemisphere as one big colony of the US of A. Canada, for instance, was called a "vassal" of the US (plus, somehow, a threat to the US).
The strategy also explicitly reverses 80 years of bipartisan approach, now seeing the EU as a direct threat (just like Putin does). A key priority is to undermine the EU as much as possible by supporting far-right groups across the subcontinent, ideally breaking up the union entirely.
Trump also intends to cede global influence on a huge scale, leaving room for countries like Putin's Russia to slither into the vacuum. He's not just disrupting the balance of power, he's shredding it completely.
This policy is shocking; America will be nobody's friend, and no one will be able to rely on America or its promises.
The real question is how closely this approach aligns to objective reality. Previous American leaders understood the need for diplomacy, consensus, negotiation, good relations. But the current crop of Fox News talking heads have embraced a low-IQ worldview that sees a hyperpower doing what it wants, whenever it wants, to whomever it wants. America versus the world, basically.
We'll see how well that goes.
What do you think? Will this lead to a new world order where most of the planet moves on without Uncle Sam and remains more or less stable, leaving the US to decline into impoverished fascism? Or will the withdrawal of the US result in global chaos, leaving the US to decline into impoverished fascism?

Every word he has ever said had the goal of naming himself the American Putin ... the way he treats the press, the stooges he surrounds himself with, the use of his personal police force ... he sees Putin as the role model not the enemy

Trump was imagining Putin while he blew Clinton.

Did Putin already put Trump on a PIP?

That sound you’re hearing is America’s former allies stampeding to dump American securities and America’s Global Reserve Currency status being flushed down the toilet. Enjoy the impending depression folks.

To quote the philosopher Rob Halford about how Canada feels about that fucking unflushed turd "You think I'll let this go, your mad. You got another thing coming."

And of course there's no collusion with Russia, it's the Russia-Russia-Russia hoax, no puppet, no puppet...
It's so tiring to hear them deny it.
Huor
And even if there were no collusion, there's clearly an alignment of values, and that should be alarming enough.

I'm stuck in IL Cheetos Mussolini's shithole country. I'd happily move to the EU if I was able.

Orange Pedo and Putin want Ukraine's natural minerals; iron ore, lithium & graphite (for batteries), titanium, coal and rare earth. The land Russia has seized has all of this.

Europe should retaliate by heavily investing in our own weapon systems and technology. ASML should not export their microchip machines to the US anymore but send them to China instead, unless USA makes a deal with us. Ban Facebook etc.

Cant wait to get defenestrated out a window for not being a trump supporter.

Go USSR - They have TACO man's balls in a vice obviously. Why else is he not supporting the containment of the russions? Talk to me.
RealityInflicted
Basically, but mostly it is about the shared goal of destroying the EU.

80 Million magas safety nestled into their one long shallow ditch, and Russian officials afraid to fly over any international body of water. That's my dream for humanity.

i have no intellectual/insider info. the few facts i pick up, 10 months ago on imgur/others i posted "brexit was a US/Corp plan to break EU, it didn't work. trump is giving EU to russia, giving asia (including NZ, AU) to china. trump is getting trillions in direct bribes." u would think i was trump's adviser who just released this policy. one motivation is corporations HATE the EU which is the only place left on earth that protects it's citizens from corp fraud and prosecutes.
ItsACrazyWorld
Nah.. what gave you that idea?
MCFLYYY
Great story material for C&C Generals 2 /s. The USA has forced the EU to break up and Russia is taking advantage to invade/conquer all of Europe without there being a unifying defense force. Instead of a "GDI" type federation to defend against Russia, you instead play the campaign as a bunch of smaller countries with varying army types going up against Russia. And 2/3 of the way through the story when you start getting the upper hand and pushing Russia back finally gaining some territory back...
MCFLYYY
IN COMES THE USA to aid Russia as the 3rd faction/bad guy lolol
crazyspelling
Russia doesn't even need the shit it wants. It's got oil, it's got minerals, its got ports, its got farmland, enough to keep all the plutocrats fat and happy until the world cooks itself. They want Europe because of their 300-year-long inferiority complex about not being invited to stuff.
Rijacki
Canada as a "vassal" is also a step to forcing it to be the "51st state". Yet, any time Canadians, rightfully, get angry about the 51st rhetoric, they're gaslighted as "Trump's just joking" while there is a steady march to attempt to take over Canada. This is absolute garbage! This is not the US as it has been for decades, for more than a century.
Rascael
The sooner the WORLD can decouple from America, the better... stopping intelligence sharing is a good start, banning Americans next...
Huor
Yeah but how does the world avoid sliding into chaos if the US-led coalition isn't keeping things stable?
Rascael
By sticking to their own concepts and discounting that America is going to help at all, and in fact, start planning for America to be an ENEMY... Start cultivating a EUROPE FIRST in conjunction with Canada, Australia, and other democracies NOT AMERICA and cut America OUT of the supply chain, IN FACT ADD 50% surcharges for selling anything TO AMERICA, paid by the American company or consumer importing it...
SMarkt
trump is not the problem. its the morons who voted for him. twice!
InkyBlinkyPinkyAndClyde
It's both, and it's also the Republicans as a whole who are allowing this.
CorvidPrime
All I ask is that if it come to that, please don’t harm our civilians…
KoalaOnTheJuice
A little fascism never hurt anyone right?
InkyBlinkyPinkyAndClyde
The US is already harming other countries' civilians, and will likely harm many more. I don't think Americans can expect to be protected, especially if it comes down to military action.

Well, take a look at how they are treating their own civilians and extrapolate.
CorvidPrime
I AM one of those civilians…
OnyxTurret
And how are they treat you lately?
OnyxTurret
Oh wait, I finally understood that you, as a citizen of the USA, are asking us to be nice to the people in the States. Gotcha.
