He And His Cronies Are About To Loot An Entire Nation.

Jan 20, 2025 8:28 AM

The filthy bastards.

TrumpCoin gives foreign powers a direct line of bribery into our country, but I guess they've always had that anyway, evidenced by our support of Israel over the decades. We're cooked.

larger issue is iirc didn't Trump want to sell off the Gold reserve and have Crypto in its palce? (not all but a large amount of it)....it would 100% be his own crypto to boost value and ofc benefit him.

He is likely about to destroy economy for decades.

It was a criminal enterprise the moment he got in the first time. Now he has the immunity of "official acts" which is to say immunity. He's literally going to loot as much as he can for himself and his cronies (they'll have to get something because they'll be doing the actual looting). It's going to be incredible! Look at Day Zero!

You still don't get it. The real issue isn't that he's selling it; the issue is that people are buying it. Crypto, lies, cons, bullshit, whatever -- people are buying it.

Even if Trump were to say "I'm giving total management of my cryptocurrency to my son Eric," it's still his currency. Every time his currency is purchased, he benefits. And it's anonymous. It can be anyone. But it won't be. He'll get a message. "I'm just letting you know that I'm thanking you for our friendship, 42,000 times." And then there's 42,000 of his currency purchased.

Oh, and it doesn't even end there. This is money laundering to the extreme. Dirty oligarch money can be used to buy it. It's the easiest money laundering mechanism in existence. And ANYTHING EASY AND PROFITABLE is fully exploited by Donald J. Trump.

Will the Republicans do anything about it?

Fresh Air had an episode comparing what he did in his last term to what he's likely to do this term. Basically his first term was spent loosening regulations for his companies to make money. The next term is likely to involve loosening regulations for cryptocurrency so that he can make money there too.

Very sad day in American history!

1 year ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 1

Really, the first time was a sad day. No peaceful transition of power when he lost and numerous crimes during the election. This time around, nobody should be surprised at what happens, but here we are.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Imho, it's not entirely incorrect to say that American history ends at noon today, and the history of Naziland begins.

"Sick of people calling everything in crypto a Ponzi scheme. Some crypto projects are pump and dump schemes, while others are pyramid schemes. Others are just standard issue fraud. Others are just middlemen skimming of the top. Stop glossing over the diversity in the industry."

The conflict, for now, is between the fascist, armageddonist, kleptocratic, and kakistocratic wings of the administration.

I'm no historian, but I'm not aware of any historical antecedent to this administration's combination of so much extremism, so little interest in governance, and such profound incompetence.

1 year ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Plutocratic ideals does unite a lot of them.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm afraid the USA is really just devolving into the default state of society, autocratic tyranny. We probably all just suffer a bit from the delusion that this might bring people of quality to the top. The emergence of virtuous autocrats might happen from time to time, but the survivorship bias from our history lessons deceives us about what the baseline looks like. In fact, there is mostly just ruthlessness, chaos and corruption. Good governance is not needed to gain power.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's a good insight. Democracy has been a fairly successful attempt at mitigating the worst excesses, though reliance on the rational, deliberative capacity of a population has always been the most glaring weakness, a failure mode we've just provided a master class lesson in. Autocracy is no solution, revolutionary autocrats come to power by, if anything a less meritocratic process and succession is almost always a shit show.

Dude couldn't pump a donut with cream. He can definitely dump though

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And like Charlie Brown and the football, Trumpets will fall for it every time.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This isnโ€™t about his base. This gives foreign powers a legal way to buy the executive and get America to act against its interests.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

In this case, there are no laws broken, as it's released as a value-less collector's item. It literally states that it has no value, and that if you buy it, that's on you.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Sooo trump makes 0 money on it?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Haha! No.
Selling worthless items to idiots is highly profitable. Scam as old as time.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not really a scam when IT LITERALLY SAYS IT'S WORTHLESS. Unlike other pump'n dumps, there are no claims here that it's worth anything. It, again, literally states that it's a memecoin for collectors, of no value, and that's that.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Interesting to know if you still think this to be true

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Irrelevant. Lots of people sell trash to collectors. This is a collectors item. It states very clearly that the resale value is entirely virtual and not to be used as currency.

Because.

Them.

We got far too comfortable with the idea that a sense of public shame and voter common sense would keep politicians somewhat honest, at least on the surface. Trump and co realized that we've reached a point where none of that matters. The more blatantly corrupt he is the more his followers and handlers seem to love him, and the rest of the country can't be bothered to fucking vote to save themselves and their children from what's coming.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The system is built on the idea that politician, especially those of such high level, are honourable gentlemen.
Its been rotting for a while but I think it was probably Bannon who deciced to advise just doing whatever and that nothing will happen.

I'm tired of democrat lawmakers complaining that everything the GOP does is illegal. Do something about it then! All they do is blast them on social media, like they expect the public to do what they can't.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like we need to gather them all into a room, and give them a severe crash course entitled "YOU CANNOT SHAME THE SHAMELESS INTO FOLLOWING THE RULES." They were the ones with the power to stop them, and they did NOTHING.

When your opponent spends half their time ignoring the rules, and the rest of their time exploiting loopholes they installed a decade or more ago, any response that requires them to follow the rules to have any effect loses ALL meaning.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They will not stop, until they are PHYSICALLY FORCED TO STOP.

OK, wasn't legally compelled to, but felt morally compelled to. Better?

He felt he had to. Like there was no choice. Therefore, it's correct in saying "he had to"

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He didn't *have* to, he did it because he had integrity and loved his country.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Right, he felt he "had" to.

Understand?

Yes. A man of impeccable honor and righteousness. He felt it was necessary in order to maintain his moral principles. A very GOOD man.
