DLC is ok. Day 1 DLC should be burned in a fire
eltitiStar
I think it is fair to bash on it. Most of the people would look at it like a lie made to the buyers about the actual price of the product
ClassicSean
If the game was worth the 60 bucks and i wan to keep playin ill buy it, otherwise gfy
Chaxinitus
Complacency is how companies can justify continually making it worse and thinking a Pay to Win system is okay.
megodk
That's why I usually wait for the combined editions

In practice it's actually kids who don't care about making a statement as a consumer and just want to play.

The new trend of early access games having dlc should not be thing, game isn't even done yet. Surprised ea didn't do it 1st
BuzzScumcock
100% agree. Gamers are the most whiny, entitled consumer base in the world.
Have you seen babies?

It's fair to critize e.g. EA for publishing a non-finished game with Day 1 DLC. You are right on the result tho, dont buy that shit.
Cosmogonic
havent since fc3 for both ubi, ea and now bioware.

Therein lay the problem: Idiot gamers keep dumping 60 bucks into shit games and 20 bucks a pop for DLC that was probably base content at one
HeyOP

I've never bought DLC, I'm patient and just wait for the complete editions to come out.
VesuvianPrime
Same, there are so many games I just pick up the complete set on steam for $5 a year or two later.
Coffeebug
I love good value DLC - some of the Fallout stuff was great. The Sims trying to charge £8 for a few hairdos however, was offensive.
I've bought a few cars in rocket league and I'll probably buy a prime ronin in Titanfall 2. People Expect free stuff with 70€ games (1/2)
while the production costs rise and the price stays the same. I bought bf1 premium, because of that. The DLC are not a part of the main game
EaNasirsExcellentHighGradeCopper
Hating is perfectly justified when they clip out half the game to sell to you piecemeal for 200% of the price. Whats stupid is 90% of the
people bitching about DLC still go out and buy it because they are fucking ADHD imbeciles who are all "but mah GAEMS"
Paragonville
Everyone who says they miss when games had no DLC clearly don't remember when games came out with game breaking bugs, and they'd never be -
- fixed because they didn't have the incentive/money to do so. DLC (not day one DLC) funds all those nice patches you get over the course -
- of a game's life. Without DLC, there'd be much fewer or no bug fixes, because companies have to pay their devs to investigate the code -
- of their game find the bugs. Otherwise, they're going to place the devs on another game project now that the first game is out.
ManiaGamine
Still a bad practice. Hating it is perfectly justified. Ideally you should avoid buying it as well but hating is free.
How does *not* buying a game or its DLC cost you money?
Uh... what?
"Ideally you should avoid buying it as well but hating is free." So is not buying it.
Aslatra
Honestly, the DLC that functions now as expansions did in the past isn't a bad practice at all, so long as the game didn't suffer for it.
Except that expansions were additional content created post-release. DLCs are often content created for released but held back for selling.
Not always. Sometimes, for sure, mission packs in sandbox things for sure, but if you look at Witcher 3, Dying Light, or Dark Souls, the 1/
games are complete in their own right, but then new content is released months down the line that took active development time after release

Kinda like instagram, am I right?
No, instagram has people being social, and It's not really media. It's more like a bunch of 14 year old girls posting pictures of their food
Kinda like 14 year olds posting pictures of their pc builds. Still not seeing a difference.
I haven't seen one of those for months. I browse Usersub Rising, not newest though.
