I have great friends!

Jun 3, 2022 2:40 AM

Idgaf if you care. However, a good friend gave me his login to watch Obi-Wan. Scrolling through movies, I remembered that Bedknobs and Broomsticks exists, which is a happy childhood memory for me and probably why I gained an instant love for Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimen. Happy prequel to my birthday weekend after super horrid last week.
Edit: Yeah - I know - “I before e” sorta thing. I am old enough to be part of the generation ruined by phonics. Hence - spelling mistakes. Mea culpa. Edit part II: My love of this film led me to look for other random British media, hence my love for Sir Terry and Neil. My apologies for any confusion.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks was definitely a childhood favourite of mine too @op. I have such strong memories if it. That and Babes in Toyland

Try out Willow, especially as they're making a Willow series.

Thanks for the recommendation! I did appreciate the original.

My gramma had an old day bed with porcelain bed knobs and I used to go on wild adventures with my cousins based on that movie!!

The context of whether or not you're in Alabama changes the tone of this comment.

Now try Ducktales. The reboot was great fun.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My friend lent me her login so I could Lost City again cause it busted me up so much ?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't forget The Black Hole. Disney chose a freaky will-damage-young-children film for their first PG release.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Watcher in the Woods works for that kinda thing too

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The football match in the middle is wild

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I love that movie too! When the Disney insiders club thing was big they had that as one of the “prizes” so I have it on dvd. I need to…

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

rewatch the Apple Dumpling Gang too. Already rewatched the original Pete’s Dragon. Also, the new Ducktales is pretty good.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea. Great flick. The classic Dick Van Dyke movies don't get enough appreciation these days.

Don't forget Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!

Great mashup.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It used to be the Christmas film at primary school(probably the only film they had on reel) and they'd screen it in the assembly hall yearly

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Probably explains my weird love for murder she wrote

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The animated scene,Bobbing along, is better than Mary Poppins animated scene. And it’s a better song.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Originally written for Mary Poppins. But I agree it is wonderful!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Will always be one of my favorites, I still have the VHS. I had no idea those guys were involved.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As far as I know, they weren't — I guess @op meant the feel is the same as in their works.

Substitutary locomotion. Mystic power that's far beyond our wildest notion.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a kid I would yell this at my toys hoping they would get up and move.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The final fight with the knights was simultaneously my favorite part and scared the shit out of me as a child.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Substitutiary locomotion come to me.. I loved that movie as a kid

3 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Portabello Road is the greatest music number in any Disney movie ever.

3 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

Love all the different dances, especially Caribbean and Indian

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes! My kids think I’m bonkers for loving this scene. I think it’s because it is a fantastically long music number.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Street where the riches of ages are sold. Yes! Always loved this.

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Everything and anything a chap can unload…

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is sold off the barrow in Portobello Road

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Extra proof of my failing memory, as the word is “stowed,” not sold.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It is okay. We are older now but still a great song.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"Anything and everything a chap can unload" means those goods were sold too

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I dunno. Every Little Bit in Pete's Dragon is pretty fire too

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Ooh yeah, i forgot about this one. Also when the Goggins sing In These Hills. Gets me rolling every time.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also the only streaming service I know of that actually lets you see their entire catalog A-Z without hiding shit behind algorithms.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

First two movies I watched on launch day were "Candleshoe" and "Flight of the Navigator".

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's the only reason I got it, Disney is a nostalgia gold mine, with a few recent good watches
