DTLA from my bathroom door.

Finished product first

Life tip: If you see a broken toilet falling, don't try to catch it.

On the disabled list for 8 weeks

MRW when I find out that I'm now .1% over the minimum passing grade

Back to work, removed the tile and underlayment. Installed new plywood underlayment.

Removed a protruding wall which served as a closet. Of course the back wall wasn't level with the the adjoining wall. Had to build out the studs and re-drywall to make it even.

Tub day. It fits!

Went with a simple surround which works well here.

Laid down Schluter Ditra membrane

Tile down. These were big but it went pretty fast.

New window installed

Trimmed out

Wall tile. This took a while.

Tile in, need to grout.

Grout done. Loving the look.

Built matching shelves in the new closet space. I used plywood as a base and attached "floating floor" material to them. This allowed me to use the matching wooden threshold as a faceplate. Wasn't quick but certainly easier than with wood and trying to match the stain.

Final electrical move.

Done!

I'm thinking of remodelling my washroom too, can you please let me know what the total cost was?

Nice work mate. Please set up training courses for "IMGUR DIY PROJECTS", because this is perfect. Not 195 photos, but you covered it all.

Is it just me or did the flange of the toilet bowl seem like it was sticking out way too much? I'm used to seeing them more flush with floor

I prefer the old floor. Don't get me wrong, the wood floor looks very good, but I don't like that style for a bathroom.

Well lets hope OP saved the tub or it found a good home.

The tiles were pink not white.

They look more white than pink, could be the light shading them like that because of the wall as well.

it looks really nice now, Op is clearly into the modern look. But I totally agree, imo that vintage claw foot tub and floors were perfect!

You did yourself a disservice with that shitty unit. Make sure you double membrane that shit because it shifts pretty easily.

I'm not a fan of pink and black flooring but more power to you.

I like it now a lot too! It's not really about the colors for me, you can just tell that was the original flooring. And I love that.
