Defying Boat Gravity.

He looks so happy!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I tried that once but I'm a clumsy bitch and fell on my ass. Never again.

Its really fun until you nearly fall of the front and die only being grabed last second by your dad ????

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Done similar in elevators. Not quite the same vertical, but still a fun feeling.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is fun but be careful cause you will not land where you took off from

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Been there done that. Way cool.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

stop defying gravity

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'd like a gif of the heel part, such a brutal stomp :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can someone explain me how he falls at the same place if he is flying and the boat is moving under him?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because he still has the horizontal velocity from standing on the boat and not enough wind resistance to slow him during his air time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did... Did he dab?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

The land and dab....marvelous

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yep. I'd find a way to face plant or go overboard. Probably into the mouth of a shark

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

v

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

So that's how they harvest the upvotes...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Done that on a Navy ship

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sure the Navy does this as well, but Coasties sometimes do this from the fantail up to the helo deck. A FN went over the side once.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, I'm sure. We had a life raft torn off the ship after a wave hit.. 50 foot swells off San Francisco coast.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And this is why we don't move while jumping on land, even when earth is moving REAAAAL fast. Science

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Up up and a-wave*

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This kids, is why black people are so much better at basketball than us white folk

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Earth is flat proof, checkmate: - flat eathers

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My brother worked Supply ships in the North Sea. Deck crew did this in NS waves. One guy broke his arm on landing. No longer legal to do.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Flap harder little bird. You almost made it that

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"I can see my island from here!"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Every time you jump in an elevator when it starts to go down...this is what is wished would happen....

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gotta jump as a fast moving elevator goes up and stops. It works with the right timing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I've been cursed with slow ones then...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yup tall high end buildings are the best for this

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

aaaaaah

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those that want to try, don't. You jump near the peak as the bow goes up, bow drops & you land as bow is rising. Fun but jacks your knees up

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

This happened to my dad, only he was sitting on a boat. The force of the impact on his spine shattered two vertebrae.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Used to do this shit on the back of a school bus. Until I hit my head

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No life vest? He needs a stern talking to.

8 years ago | Likes 194 Dislikes 11

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

poop deck

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

i like the cut of his jib

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But he's not in the stern, he's in the bow. He needs a bow talking to.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

A lot of foc'sle not get that joke

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

This is so much better than mine.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks. I liked yours too, though

Running and jumping in the opposite direction is pretty cool. Did it on a cruise as a kid. Make sure your pockets are empty lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait why would that work on a cruise ship? Isn't your body already going the direction the ship is?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Run the opposite direction of the ship and jump. You'll go quite a distance.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are cruise ships really going fast enough for that to work?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

About 30mph so yes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have done this. Can confirm.

8 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 1

Same here. Thank you navy.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Scary af.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I love it. Except when someone vomits during a roll. Then it's not fun for anyone.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same. Scared the shit out of me the first time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How'd your knees feel?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Permanently damaged.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My knees started crying just from watching this, so...

I still wonder to this day what editing magic it took to accomplish this...

Enjoi's "bag of suck" for anyone looking for sauce

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Such a good video, Jerry went all in!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gotta agree, one of my all time favourite parts

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

YEAH RIGHT!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Close, but this one is from enjoi's "Bag of Suck"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

360 flip!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The "behind the gif" comic of this is amazing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Note to self actually try that some time. I actually never have thought of doing that ever.

8 years ago | Likes 514 Dislikes 5

What WERE you doing when you where 8 years old???

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tie a rope to the front cleat and hold onto it. makes it easier to control yourself

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that's a terrible idea.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I can bump my head on the ceiling if I jump at the right time in an elevator. Bear in mind, that I'm only 5'5" tall, and 65 yrs old.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good way to seriously injure yourself.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As kids we'd try to catch a particular bus with shot suspension, and watch for certain hills the driver would go up faster just for us.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

We did this with the posting bus in the Air force once. We flipped it. 44 pax bus with guns and ammo, middle of a ND winter. Ah, memories.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People break legs doing this

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have, wear shoes. I landed in something and sliced my foot open.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you jumped off the boat accidentally any direction really, you'd be fucked. so no maybe don't try that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can try this in an empty elevator. Just be prepared to get stuck.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Are there videos of this?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can get this effect if you jump up in a fast elevator that is descending.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or a fast one ascending if you time the jump with the stop.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

saw someone do that and break their ankle, don't let that be you too

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He must have jumped forward a bit surprised he didn’t land farther back. I shall try this also

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 5

Not really, you are already moving forward the same speed as the boat (at the start). You won't slow down enough that quick for it to matter

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Your horizontal velocity basically stays the same, obviously not exactly the same but negligible

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

(1) I would argue not negligible, the boat is going to hit waves and change speed. In this case it made no difference but in many you will

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) Land far enough off for it to be an issue.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you think it matters on the type of boat too? If it were hydroplaning then we should see little change in vel due to little resistance

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Other than that you're right, I apologise for spreading misinformation

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I worked on the water for 5 years, and trust me you don’t want to do this. It’s a good way to kill or maim yourself

8 years ago | Likes 300 Dislikes 4

Oh yeah. I tried to use the momentum to push myself up to a bench. Misjudged and overshot the whole damn thing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This just makes me want to try it even more

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

We always did this... Ok, still do but the key is to be able to hold on to something, a handle or the back of a seat. You get air but (1)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

it's controlled. A favorite memory from living on a lake as a kid. (2)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Are you the no fun police?

8 years ago | Likes 104 Dislikes 10

Am i also the no fun police for telling you to not jump out of a moving car?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha no I’m the don’t fall off the boat and get chopped up by the propeller police or the D.F.O.B.G.C.P.P for short

8 years ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 3

or the "Darwin Award Referee"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think you fully said everything I was going to say perfectly, officer DFOBGCPP.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good to see the DFOBGCPP out in force tonight. Obama didn't support you, but I do.

8 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 1

That's what happens in a 2 party system. I can't remember the last time a president actively supported the DFOBGCPP

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Yup. I can tell you from experience...you do NOT want to fuck up when trying this. Lucky for me...I missed the boat entirely.

8 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 1

How would that even happen?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How would I get flipped off the boat? Easy...the waves in this video are TINY by comparison.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So the wave hit your vessel at an angle? Or did it hit with enough force that the boat went underneath you as you slowed in the air?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it does not take much force to jump a perceived high height. the boat will help propel you upwards AND drop lower. if you do a full jump 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

2/2 it would likely result in you getting put off balance mid air, or you slowing down(relative to the boat) causing you to land dangerously
