That was actually pretty good

Rhyming "up" with "up" four times in a row is wild, but you still love to see it

6 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Makes me think of Flyleaf. Cool singer and fun guys.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice to see kids doing bands again. I thought that shit was dead.

Not on MY porch!

The song does have a So What’cha Want kinda vibe…

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

yeah. that's pretty damn awesome

6 months ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 4

Awesome but it was staged. I don't like thinking that people think I am a fool for believing their social media bs.

Unfortunately on page 6,043 of the EULA for Ring, Amazon now owns this song and the firstborn of every band member.

6 months ago | Likes 196 Dislikes 1

They already did because this is an ad for Ring cameras

merci

Hey, its the twice daily repost of this video.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s some good shite

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Song is a bit of a banger. Would we search for Maple From NExt Door to find it?

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Edit: no that didn't work.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BLOCK EM LIKE LEGO! BLOCK EM LIKE LEGO!

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's on spotify, actually. The band is Maple's Pet Dinosaur and the song is called "lego." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6ACQGhpLl4

Very Halestorm vibe

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I got a tiny taste of the RHCP as well in there.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

throwback to old MTV music videos with fisheye cameras, hence the shirt.

And the sound too

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like early Avril, in a good way

I got the 8 upvote notification and ended up in a rabbit hole and watched the actual video, which is a hilarious fever dream of a music video and worth a watch. I cant decide if my favorite Busta is Cowboy Busta or Officer Busta. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un3NkWnHl9Q

“Hence” is a funny word to use there. Do you know for sure that’s why she wore the shirt? 😂

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it seems obvious to me that was her intent, but I guess it could just be a coincidence

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, I figured, I’m not ragging. But we could equally assume she wore it cause she likes music, she’s making a music video (stylized or not), or just the aesthetic, so to say “hence” like she’s a specimen to be studied and come to a scientific conclusion is very funny.

Also, it makes me laugh to think of Jordan Peele HAVING to wear an Alfred Hitchcock shirt when directing a movie because that’s who inspires him.

That was awesome 👏

Genuinely hope their band name is Kids Next Door

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never hurts to be a good neighbor something much needed in this day at age.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

perhaps ask for permission before you carry your whole eqipment over?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't worry. I am pretty sure they did.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nice cut.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that is kicking

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shit, that song goes kinda hard!

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Hey lets set up on my porch and make a video, but act like we are doing it on a strangers ring cam because thats a trend on tik tok for some reason?"

"Yeah that sounds great, I'll stay inside and answer, while you all play, then we can cut it together"

"sweet! Ill say something like 'can we use your porch camera to make a video for our band' or something, and you sound confused. HA HA it will be great"

6 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

when the cRiNgE is cringe

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah, probably, what's the issue here

6 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

The layers of work portraying itself like spontaneous authenticity.

its digital astroturfing, the kids are doing a fine performance they are doing a good job playing and singing, then they ruin it by acting like "this isn't what it is... its just us kids doing kid things."

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

uh huh

next you'll be saying the kids are gaslighting us

feel pasture buddy

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty fun, but I have one minor issue. During the "block 'em like Lego" line they use a plush puppet thing rather than the actual Lego head they showed immediately prior.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My issue is that the kid operating the puppet is waaay too slow moving it, so he only start moving to the mic while his line is being sung instead of ready, and also he doesn't open the mouth at the right times for the lyrics. But the song is great.

Where's the sauce?

6 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Lego - Maple's Pet Dinosaur

6 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That’s crazy cause my ring does not pick up sounds that clearly

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Well after they filmed it on their own ring cam, like 5 times, they then looped in the audio they recorded at the studio their parents rented for them and had the producer clean up.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

...That's not how music videos work. They're filmed, cut together, and a studio recording of the song is added on top.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Asks AFTER having brought the whole band and equipment and set it up. Multiple shots including at night.

6 months ago | Likes 130 Dislikes 11

I'm very glad you made me think about this, after seeing the nighttime bits, I just thought it was a super long song.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Relax MeatWagon. They're kids.

6 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Because all other music videos are real, nothing fake , planned, or edited

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Good job Sherlock

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Just roll with it. Obviously the home owner would have been alerted by the Ring Camera that a delivery of one Rock Band occurred, and not having order a Rock Band, would have investigated.

6 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

In reality they 100% asked before, but that doesn't sell on social media

6 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

They asked... their parents, who also paid for the production studio who did multiple audio passes on their music and audio, before layering it on top of the 5 different porch videos.

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

you seem visibly agitated at the idea of young people doing literally anything

6 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Well yes, or one of their parents did it themselves. Not unheard of. Of course it is work masquerading as authenticity, like so much these days. But the kids had fun, why the hell not.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and say that part was very probably scripted

6 months ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 3

Still, Maples band is great. Kids gonna be allright

6 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I’ve got faith in the kids. So far they’ve been the biggest “fuck you” generation in history. In a time when everything needs to change this is a good thing

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What would make you think it was scripted? The auto-tune? or the the multi-track recording on the instruments and audio that was clearly done in a studio?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

...you realise the music in music videos is not played live for the camera?

6 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

They don't walk up to the camera at the start and say "can we use this to make a music video" though do they?

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

They are explicitly implying that this video was recorded by playing for the ring camera, and stated that it was a neighbors ring camera when it clearly is not.

Its a double lie which is what people in the comments are pointing out. There was no need to do either, the music is pretty good and the performance is fun. adding the ring camera element ruins both.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

That is exactly what they did. "Is it okay if we use your ring to make a music video, please?"
