Thought you might be interested in this, this is the gear that was worn by Robert O'neill during operation Neptune Spear, the mission to eliminate Osama Bin Laden in 2011

Parts of this gear was also used during other high risk missions During O'Neill's career

Some notable missions were the mission to save Captain Phillips when he was taken by Somali pirates

As well as the mission to rescue Marcus Luttrell.

Hope you found this as interesting as I did! This gear is on display in it's entirety for the first time at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library

FP edit: The cammies are not the ones used during the op, I was mistaken. His cammie top is on display at the 9/11 memorial, but all of the other gear was the gear that was actually used.

Yes, the Demon Hunter patch is real, and was worn by many people in DevGru. It's called a morale patch and serves to help morale, just like Chris Kyle had the Punisher symbol on a lot of his gear. Demon Hunter was asked if a 'military team' could use the symbol as a patch, and Demon Hunter was all for it. Only years later did they find out that the 'team' that asked was likely DevGru.

Shout out to the asshat that went through and downvoted everybody's positive comments. Good job, you really showed us.

Just finished reading his book. It's a very well written book and I recommend anyone who likes military novels to read it.

The guy is a total bad ass with a great sense of humor.

"Watch out Bin Laden, somewhere on me is a tiny bulletproof shield. If you shoot me and hit it, then you'll be the laughing stock of me"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Demon Hunter must be so stoked.

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 8

Shit I would be. I hope they write a song about it, this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen a bands image assoicated with.

And yet I’m here sitting on the toilet, doing nothing while people out there and doing something

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I too would rather be out there ignoring habeas corpus and civilized justice and murdering unarmed men.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME MY FAVORITE BAND :O ! :D

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But why at the Richard Nixon library?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

O'neill was there for a big book signing and fundraising event, so he sent his gear ahead of him to be displayed

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Thanks for the quick and concise answer!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where s the blaster?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't get it, it's just an empty box

8 years ago | Likes 145 Dislikes 13

Just an empty box with a Demon Hunter patch

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Smh people these days right

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Why is there is lady in his gear (pic#2)? Was she necessary for the operation too? Haha.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe that is a tactical Asian, they're commonly used as calculators for distances and ballistics

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I wish op posted a closer pic of the guy himself on the bottom right...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Didn't know their belts were color matched to AOR1 as well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you're not wearing an eye bleeding amount of aor1 then are can you be considered devgru?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When you have as much money as Devgru, you can afford to match all the things xD

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Fucking SEALs are bad ass mother fuckers man. Always calm and collected. Very erie to see, but great guys.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Honestly this is kind of suspicious. Why would something so personal be put on display like that? It's almost overkill to make us

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

believe the story we were told. Idk... never seeing Osama bin ladens body just never quite sat right with me.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Tier 1 guys operate as teams, not saying forget Oniell but think about all the thankless guys swimming in shit so we can sleep peacefully

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

pretty much all military do, most of them don't like the spotlight though. Apparently O'neill got a lot of shit for being 'the shooter'

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That gear looks really clean, more than I would have expected

8 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 8

That's true but you can see that that it has been worn. The long sleeves and shoulders are sun bleached making them a bit lighter.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

most likely not THE stuff he wore, but same type. bc yeah, its all brand spanking new out of box in that display.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

you thought they leave osamas blood on?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He was actually filled with acid.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the good kind?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These guys are in and out on an op, not a lot of trekking or slumming it like the standard Teams or SOF guys.. Pays to be Tier 1 haha

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 3

Yeah but I would have thought they would wear their uniform more than a couple times. That said, I see DARPA folks sometimes and their 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

2/2 shit is always very clean

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I'm pretty sure this was professionally cleaned before it was displayed too, but I'm not sure

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

that would also make sense, kinda detracts from the coolness though

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

What? I cant see anything apart from a red badge

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Would be nice to see Osama's body before they threw it away...

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Would be nice to see him stand trial.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nice for us "the people", for the government may not want people to know whatever he has to say.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Osama Bin Oswald

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The stats on those must be god-tier.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I can tell you right now he did things none of us will ever know about.

8 years ago | Likes 286 Dislikes 17

Not after the DOD's lawyers got done with the author of "No Easy Day"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

yea but ive done thing you will knever know about

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Well, considering he broke the nondisclosure agreement to cash in on a book...we might.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You mean having sex?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Ha that's what you think all navy seals upon completing buds get a book signing deal to write about all their classified missions

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 30

My father in law was a Navy Seal Special Forces sniper, so many stories I'll never hear. Also know that if I fuck up they'll never find me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'll always wonder, why they dump the body at sea instead they can bring it to the public and let people see him by themselves?

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 7

That would have been an utter shit-show, of all the things they'd do that'd be the last. Burial at sea was frankly a genius solution.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Here, read this and make your own conclusions http://anonhq.com/what-is-happening-to-the-bin-laden-killers-seal-team-six/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because the Navy thought it would be funny to strap his corpse to a skateboard and launch his ass off the carrier catapult. Or so I hope.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Maybe so there was no way his body or his burial site could become a shrine to extremist follows, like Hitlers bunker being a carpark

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

They could have presented the body to other government agencies before, don't you think? Why run the risk of people suspecting you lied?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

think it's because it's highly disgraceful for a man of Islam to not be buried in sacred land and he was the worst of Islam, I may be wrong

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 8

Butte, Montana represent

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey! I live in Yorba Linda! I had no idea this was on display, definitely gonna check it out, thank @OP

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do it!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hate to break it to ya champ. But those cammies are brand new. Not salty or worn or broken in at all.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 8

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Yes, that is indeed the printed sheet of paper that made you fall for this con job.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Yeah bud, the plate carrier has obviously been worn. Also, it's almost like people sometimes use new cammies occasionally

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Can we see what Osama was wearing?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Probably man jammies

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Snuggie?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That fucking piece of shit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically, but you wear it all the time. And you just cover your wives in a sheet

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

How did it survive the helicopter crash?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

During the Osama raid? The helo had more of a hard landing than a crash. Robert O'neill is alive and well haha

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

And he is a regular on FOX news. He's pretty bad ass.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

There were two helos, one landed on the wall the other touched down outside the wall. The book "No easy day" details the raid. Great book

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That's the Demon Hunter trademark from the band of the same name.

8 years ago | Likes 429 Dislikes 9

Yeah i notice that, neat

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you noticed that our badges actually have little pictures of daemons on them?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

First thing I noticed.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

It doesn't exactly... blend in with the camo, does it?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neither does the american flag on all of their uniforms, camo only works from a distance

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Are they good? I know their stuff on the killing floor 2 OST locks ass.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

We're you trying to say sucks? Because they're far from it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No way that band does suck ass.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No way that band does not

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

IT FUCKIN LOCKS ASS

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Think he meant Kicks

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah. My mistake

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah sorry, swipe.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, apparently, O'neill wore that patch on every op since he got it

8 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 7

A bright red patch in the middle of his chest? I'm not trying to be a dick but I really doubt it. To Google!

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

Seems like a bad idea...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Right? What's the point of camo if you're going to do that?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

These guys are the American equivalent of ninjas. Fyi, there are 12 in the room you are in.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was wrong. My bad.

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

You are a good person

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

LMAO, thank you, but I also just said I was poopsterbating a few comments down so..your judgement might be off a little :)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep! Demon Hunter sent CDs and patches to show support after Metallica asked not to be associated with such violent things

8 years ago | Likes 203 Dislikes 8

Hahahaha that's freaking awesome!!!!! Love Demon Hunter!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Honestly, whatever else Metallica has done, it was St. Anger that made me stop liking them. I mean, Saint... Anger? WTF guys, really?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I couldn't listen to it for the snare alone.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hate to be that guy but you're wrong: https://www.facebook.com/Metallica/posts/10151273157340264

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Huh, must've been a miscommunication between people, my friends in the sandbox a while ago were asked not to play any Metallica

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Pussies.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol they named a chow hall and road on Ft Riley after them because of that

8 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

Damn seriously? Now I wish I'd have gone to that shit hole.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

No you don't am here currently fucking sucks

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No you fucking don't. Been there. Can confirm, that place is a festering shit hole.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You're probably right cause I'd have gone there from Sembach in Germany. Sembach was a vacation.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure that's mouserat

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 13

bruh, demon hunter, check em if you dont know them

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I mean, I just googled them, I wanted to listen, honest, but it's classified as a Christian metal band.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

I forgot God Forsaken

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You're doing yourself a great disservice with that closedmindedness.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Bruh, they're Christians, but their music isn't like Jesus Jesus Jesus. Give em a listen

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That's what turns you off of music? You miss out on a lot of good bands. Most of them don't even sing about religion.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Heart of a Graveyard, Collapsing, Wake, Not Ready to Die, Last one Alive, and My Destiny to get you started
