My first arcade cabinet build. Not 100% done. I need to add bigger screen and bezel to finish it up. Looking to make a bartop next.

If I had the space for it I would so do this. I made a Gameboy zero out of a piz and man is it hard to manage the space in it!

You didn't need that many pictures! I thought it was awesome in the first one!

Thanks. It was fun to to build. I added the pics from start so people knew I built from scratch. Some people thought it was a kit.

...and no origonal hardware was played that day.

There is an NES below with 22 games. Just easier to use the raspberry pi.

Can we talk about the kegerator in the back though?

That was the project just before the cabinet was built. It’s placed conveniently so you don’t have to move far.

This is great!! Check out Bob Clagget (I like to make stuff), he has a huge 3 part vid on an arcade build with lcd framing n whatnot.

That is excellent! Nice work

Neat, I'd get a bigger monitor and maybe fill in the inside with more graphics. But really good so far

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah when we ask for finish product first we dont mean to have the start at the end

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice ! This begs for a bigger screen ;)

Great job. But for Christ sake enough of retro pys.

Right next to the kegerator, niceeee.

You should look into the MAME project now that you have the cabinet and joysticks ;)

The difference a bezel and piece of smoked glass makes borders on magical. CRT would be nice but they are hilariously impractical.

Not to mention - a CRT big enough to fill that frame would mean the rear of the cabinet would need to be almost 12" deeper.

I have a flat screen that will go into that’s 37” that’s currently serving as my monitor for my computer. Upgrading to 4K

Where would someone such as myself find a wiring diagram and instructions for those joysticks?

I bought them from Game Room guys on Amazon and used an iPac for usb. It’s strait forward on how wiring when you look at the iPac board.

I love your fridge.

Thanks. It was the project before the cab.

as cool as these are, i like to sit down when i play video games

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The bar is just out of frame on left. The cab is built so you can pull a barstool over and play.

Love the work on it already! I hope youre going for a true CRT screen in there (More work, but worth it)

Actually using my old monitor. Putting a crt in the bartop project for this summer.

I think he's good as long as he doesn't try to sell them.

That was my understanding. My wife hand painted after tracing the outline.

I only pretend to be a lawyer on Imgur, but I'm fairly certain you'd be okay.

Can I hire you?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

More of a hobby. Plenty of folks sell either rehabbed cabinets or ones built from scratch.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well yes, you can. I'd have payment upfront if you want me to do that thing you like.
