What running actively for a year does to your body

Are they still chasing you?

8 years ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 1

Damn.... It took decades off you

8 years ago | Likes 133 Dislikes 0

I can barely make it 10 minutes, 1 year, that's impressive

Find out how this pasty grandma became a smokin hot milf in only one year! Doctors hate her!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Your running outfit is so cute too! Go you!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Great transformation, congrats! I run a lot...and I also eat like a maniac so there really hasn't been much change for me. You inspire.

I learned to run using the Couch to 5K (C25K app by Zen Labs) program (jog/walk to start) and did parkrun as best I could on Saturdays.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Age is just a number. You're only as old as you feel!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But how old you feel is just a number too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well technically, you're right.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tell me more how did you start

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congrats!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There it is, was starting to get worried there wasnt ONE gump reference in this whole thread.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My grandma started running 1km every day since she became 60. Now she's 75, and we have no idea where she is

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have the urge to make a forrest gump joke, but i'll just settle for a very hearty congratulations OP, you did great work!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like you ran nonstop.

8 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

She is 100s of miles away, no idea where she is.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hey Forrest Gump did it....

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She obviously didn't run non-stop. She has no beard.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How are your joints doing?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Exactly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At least in younger people, moderate intensity running can actually help maintain knee cartilage. I will try to find the study again.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And, if you start running and stuff at a young age, it is supposed to strengthen bones as well

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, strength training too. It has to do with how osteoblasts (bone-forming cells) work. Gravity and mechanical stress activates them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I used to run then, then one day I couldn't walk up the stairs. Connective tissue disorder. Now watching people run makes my joints hurt.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I also used the My Fitness Pal app/website and a Fitbit & Garmin to monitor my calories in/out, so I didn't eat too much or too little.

8 years ago | Likes 679 Dislikes 5

Great work! My bf & I use the myfitnesspal app. It really helps. I'm glad to see your progress w/ running & using these apps. Gives me hope.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Eating right is about 70 of the work. Great job!!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So true! Thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was just about to mention that propper eating must have had something to do with it aswell :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Total gilf well done!

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I wanted to say congraulations. You look so much more healthier. Well done for sticking to it. Keep it up.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes! MyFitnessPal is great + Nike Running App! Definitely a life changer (5'2" 165lbs -> 130lbs) :D

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

this is awesome! go you!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

great work! just watch and ensure that your foot is coming under load directly underneath your knee. hard to see in the second pic but...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My fitness pal is legit

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's exactly how I lost a shit ton of weight too! It's nice to see how much you're eating and keeping track of water intake.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why are you tracking water intake? Thats the only thing I dont bother putting into the app

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't track water. I just drink when I'm thirsty. I drink a lot of sparkling water because I love the bubbles & save calories for beer.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I once had a bad experience with dehydration and I never want to relive that hellish moment lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nicely done

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Great job! I, a perfect stranger, am proud of you!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love the My Fitness Pal app. 30 lbs down and about 100 to go.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well done! MFP is great, and doesn't encourage you to starve yourself. Keep up the good work!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow!! How much do you run each day?

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check out C25k as an easier way to get into running.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I run, but not every day, I mostly run 3-4 times a week

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

30 speed

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

Good question! I built it up gradually. This was 11mths ago. Now I'm marathon training and did 154km last month.

8 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 0

I just ran my first 10k and I thought I was going to die. Nice work.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yay for your first 10K! Good job. Bet you feel brilliant after completing it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's ridiculously impressive. Congrats, OP!!

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

That's the only right way to do it! Anyone should be able to increase the distance gradually!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I hear some great running apps out there that really motivate you with challenges and Progressive stories based on your running progress .

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I do enjoy Map My Run.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love "zombies run". You have a chase option that really gets you moving.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Progressive stories??? That sounds super interesting. Do you know of any app names that involve that?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Zombies, run! for example

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I lost 20k with zombies run!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

20kg, I mean

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

MFP is legit, such a great tool to use especially when cutting and watching macros, surprised how many foods were preloaded, just select+go

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

For anyone wondering, when cutting, 2200 cals, <150 carbs, 30-35% carbs/ 30-35% protein, rest fat, you should prob see results (w/ cardio)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Maybe for a huge man.
